A/N:
Hi,
I put in a new chapter because I got lazy this week and figured it might be time to do something useful like write a new chapter. So here you have it. I hope you guys enjoy it.
Love
June
PS. Roger is beautiful. You can't change my mind.
You and Roger were sitting in the dining room of your home. The only thing separating you was the kitchen table, on which stood a Monopoly game board. This is one of your favourite things to do when you have a lot of free time.
In fact, you often play board games. Roger loves the competition, sometimes you think he even puts together all the possible strategies for each game in his head. And I think that's why he always wins. You have no idea how he does it, but whenever you play Monopoly his investments, even if often inconspicuous and seem like failures, turn out to be great successes, making you bankrupt very quickly.
When it comes to the game of checkers it is similar. You were always the best at this game until Roger came along. He was always able to make moves so that they seemed relatively meaningless to you, but that he could then take three from you with one pawn on one move.
It was similar when it came to the knowledge quiz. You never had any problems with history or geography, but Roger's knowledge always proved to be superior to yours. You yourself couldn't figure out where he had learned it all, because, after all, not everyone could tell you that the capital of Lebanon is Beirut, Alexander of Macedon's horse was called Bucephalus and the mass of the sun is equal to 1.9884 quintillion kilograms, right?
Sometimes you found it hard not to admire your boyfriend. He was a really intelligent man and knew a lot about all sorts of things that you would never have known. You admired him for having such a memory and an orientation to the outside world.
Today, however, you decided that you would win. All day yesterday you thought about what you could do to make your boyfriend bankrupt. Of course you tried to question him about all his methods, but he only told you with a satisfied smile 'It won't be that easy, (Y/N). Keep trying, maybe one day I'll tell you, but only when we're so old that we can't move our hands anymore and can't play anymore'. You tried to play offended, but he, seeing your inconsolability with his answer, made you tea and became very sweet, giving you nice compliments that always softened your heart.
Roger could usually be cold and distant, but sometimes he had moments when he could be very affectionate. Such moments only reassured you how lucky you were that Roger allowed you to get closer than most and learn about his fears and anxieties. Although you found it difficult to live with the knowledge that he was often suffering internally from things that were never in his control and that you couldn't help him, you did everything you could to make him feel comfortable. That's what love was all about in the end; accepting the qualities and the wonderfulness of a person, but also that darker, that more mysterious and frightening side, the darkest corners of the soul.
He never showed you his feelings in public, you knew he considered his private life something he didn't feel like sharing. He also always did everything he could to make sure you didn't have to suffer the fame of the band.
So not only did you not get any information from him, but you also revealed to him that you would like to win once. Now you could only hope for a miracle that would allow you to win.
You looked at your boyfriend, who was dividing the fake money between you. His brown hair fell over his face, covering his entire forehead. His eyes were slightly squinted as he counted to the correct amount in his head. His lips moved gently as he muttered numbers under his breath so as not to get confused.
