The next few days, I didn't know how to function. I haven't talked to Lisah, but today she came to see me.

She walked through the door that's been unlocked since the day I found out Monte was cheating. I was on the couch and she held her nose as she walked into the living room.

"Eww, what died in here?"

I didn't respond. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't do anything. I haven't even taken a shower.

Lisah sighed. "Brandee, if you don't get yo funky ass up. Ima drag you."

I stayed where I was until she grabbed my ankle and pulled me off the couch, dragging me across the floor. She was about to pull me upstairs until I stopped her.

"Okay! Let me go so I can get up."

Lisah let go of my ankle. I got up, walked upstairs and fell into my bed.

She went into my bathroom and turned on the water in the tub. After a few minutes it stopped and she came back and told me "Go get in that tub."

I didn't budge until she bucked at me. I didn't want to be dragged again so I got up and went into the bathroom. I peeled out of my clothes and got in the tub.

Lisah put the toilet seat down and took a seat. "Why you acting like this?" She asked.

"Monte cheated on me" I mumbled.

"He did what?" She raised her eyebrows.

"He cheated" I said a little louder.

She jumped on up. "Oh hell naw, I'm finna cut his motherfuckin' dick off! With who girl?"

I rolled my eyes." Remember Danielle from high school?"

"Danielle Webster? The one who always flirted with Monte?"

"Yup. That's her." I said nonchalantly.

"Ima kill that bitch." Lisah shook her head.

I chuckled."I already beat her ass."

"Well shit, I'll finish her off then. Has Monte been home since you found out?"

"Nope."

"I already got my tennis shoes on. You got the Vaseline right?"

I shook my head. "Don't even worry about that Lisah, they not worth it."
She sat back down. "I'm sorry DD, you deserve better than this."

"Yeah. I realize that now."

"Well after you clean yo ass, we can go get something to eat. I know you haven't eaten anything. I'll even pay this time." She smiled proudly. "I got my check yesterday."

I had to crack a smile. "Alright, get outta here so I can take a bath."

She rolled her eyes. "Girl you ain't got nothing I don't have. Expect bomb pussy." She smirked as she walked out.
I did my hygiene thing and wrapped myself in a towel and walked into my room. Lisah was laid out on my bed eating Doritos and watching Maury.

"You knew damn well neither one of them was the father!" She yelled at the TV. "Hoes these days."

I put on some sweats and a tank and threw my hair into a ponytail.

Lisah looked my way. "At least you look half decent." She said turning off the tv as I put on some Nikes. Then we were on our way out.

As soon as I opened the door, Monte was outside fiddling with his keys. He looked up and started to speak. Before he could say a word, I brushed past him as Lisah looked him up and down. Then we both got into her car and she drove off.

We pulled up to McDonald's and Lisah parked. Then we both got out and went inside. I found us a table as she went to order us something to eat. She sat down with our food and she began to dig in. She looked up at me. "You better eat, I paid for it."

I chewed on a fry as Lisah started talking again. "Jamel proposed to his girlfriend, Tasha, and their engagement party is next week. He told me to bring you especially since he hasn't seen you in a while."

"I don't think I'm up for it Li-"

"Good, so I'll tell him you'll be there at 7 next Tuesday."

I smacked my lips. "Fine."

She smiled and we both started eating. After we finished, we headed out to the car. As soon as we pulled out the parking lot, I saw the neighbor walking inside McDonald's. He caught my eyes and smiled. Lisah drove off as I looked away.

Lisah dropped me back off at home and Monte's car was still in the driveway.

I sighed. "Did you wanna go anywhere else?"

"You're gonna have to face him sooner or later Brandee, you might as well do it now."

I groaned. I hated when she was right. I got out the car. "Bye Lisah"

"Bye DD, call me if you need me."
I nodded and headed into the house. Monte was sitting in the living room watching football. I headed upstairs and sat on the bed.

A few seconds later, here comes Monte. He looked at me. "Brandee, I-"

"Why'd you do it T?" I asked.

He sighed. "I didn't do it on purpose, it just happened. Dani was-"

"Dani? Y'all got nicknames too? Woow, okay."

"Brandee, I-"

"So what did I do wrong? Am I not pretty enough?"

"No, it's not that."

"Then what is it? I'm just not good enough for you?"

"I didn't mean to hurt you bab-"

"How long has it been going on?"

Monte hesitated. "A few months"

Those words shot me like bullets. "And you didn't mean to hurt me? Boy please."

"I'm sorry, I'll-"

"Make it up to me. Yeah, I've heard it all before but it's not gonna work this time. You can't fix this, it's already done."

"Let me make it better." He pleaded as he grabbed my waist.

I pushed him away. As I tried to keep my tears from falling. "I trusted you and you've been unfaithful. You've been cheating when you have a wife at home waiting for you to come home every single night! You been out fucking somebody else, like I wasn't here for you! You been doing shit like I don't even exist!" I screamed as I punched him repeatedly in his chest.

"I'm sorr-"

"I want you out." I growled.

"I'm not going anywhere."

"I don't know why, you're always gone anyway."

Monte nodded his head, knowing I was right and walked out.
