You hit me up, throwing me back
Oh, you don't know how to act
See, what you won't do, he would do for me
Won't be blinded by my feelings
You've been scheming on the low
Creeping on the low
Boy, you think your slick but I already know
Don't know who you've been with before
If she ain't let you know
I ain't like them other girls, baby, oh!
~Teairra Mari "I Deserve"

Today, I had a job interview. It was time for me to stop depending on everyone else and do something for myself. I was aiming to get a job as a intern at a firm.
Dealing with files, running errands, and helping with projects was my thing. I doubt I'll get the job, seeing that I really didn't have any experience, but we'll see.

I was sitting in my car, looking at the building I could be working for soon if this goes well. I got out, put a quarter in the meter, pulled down my skirt, and straightened my blouse.

I headed inside and was greeted by the receptionist.

"If you're here for the job interviews, it's on the 9th floor." She said politely.

"Thanks." I replied before going to the elevator. I pressed the up arrow and waited for it to open. Seconds later, it opened. I stepped inside and pressed the 9 and waited as it began to close slowly.

"HOLD IT!" I heard someone yelling.
I looked out the crack and saw Monte running toward the door.

I panicked and pressed the button repeatedly. He caught it at the last second.

"Fuck." I thought to myself.

He stepped inside and swiped his fingers beneath my chin. "Hello beautiful." Monte smiled.

"Don't touch me, if you do anything I will scream."

He pressed the red button, causing the elevator to stop and the light to go dark.

I was scared outta my mind right now. I guess Monte could tell. He chuckled. "I'm not gonna hurt you sweetie."

"What are you even doing here Monte?"

"That doesn't matter. You got a lot of people out looking for me. I can't believe they still haven't found me."

"Well you're sneaky. Good at hiding shit." I said sarcastically, yet serious.

"I'm sorry. How many times I gotta say it?" Monte sighed.

"I don't care if you're sorry or not, we're done. I want a divorce Monte!"

His eye started twitching. "Y-you don't mean that DD. It's that Devin dude that's plotted all this shit in your head.

"No this is your fault. Since you decided to cheat on me, abuse me, RAPE me. I didn't deserve any of that."

"I'm sor-"

"Shut the fuck up! I'm tired of hearing 'I'm sorry' from you! Are you sorry that I almost died? Are you sorry that you got me pregnant? You sorry I lost our baby?"

His whole face changed. He looked sympathetic. "A baby?"

"Yeah. Leo Devon Wright" I said nonchalant. I didn't know how to grieve anymore.

I pressed the red button again and the elevator continued and I made it to my floor.

As the doors opened, Monte grabbed me. "I still love you, and I won't stop until I have you." Then he let me go.
