~Jagged Edge "Let's Get Married"

Today was the day of Jamel and Tasha's wedding. I was excited to see this dude settle down, it was amazing.

"Hurry up or we gon be late!" Devin yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts. I had just finished getting dressed and I raced downstairs.

Devin's mouthed dropped. "You look beautiful baby." He pecked my lips.

I smiled and adjusted his bow tie. "You don't look too bad yourself."

"You ready?" He asked.

I grabbed my purse before we both headed out the door. We got into his car and he drove off.

"It's gonna be a good day." Devin smiled.

"I still can't believe Jamel is getting married. He's never been the type to settle down." I said, still stunned.

"Me neither, but Tasha's good for him. She makes him better." Devin stopped at a red light.

I nodded. I couldn't deny that. About ten minutes later, we were at the church. We went inside and as soon as we came in, one of Jamel's friends whisked Devin away.

"I'll see you later babe." Devin said, running to check on Jamel.

I walked around the church.

Everything was so beautiful. I began to reminisce about when Monte and I got married. Big guest list, huge cake, and a hyped reception.

I was interrupted by Lisah pulling my arm.

"Tasha's cousin cancelled last minute and now she's one bridesmaid short. Unless you'll fill in?"

"Uhh.. Yeah, sure."

She dragged me to Tasha's room and she was getting her hair and makeup done.

"Brandee, thank god. Will you be my bridesmaid? Please?" She was on the verge of tears. "She just had to ruin my wedding!"

"Hey hey, it's okay. Don't mess up your makeup I'd be honored to be your bridesmaid." I gave her a comforting smile.

"You would?" She sighed with relief.

"Thank you Brandee, I owe you."

"Oh no, no problem. Where's the dress?"

Lisah gave me a beautiful, flowy, lavender dress and I went to change.

When I came back, Tasha was in her wedding dress. It was beautiful.

She saw me looking, "Is it ugly? I knew I should've just got the dress my mom wanted." She sighed.

"Oh no! It's perfect, you look gorgeous." I smiled.

She started to have a meltdown. "What if this is a mistake? What if I pressured Jamel too much and he's only doing it so I won't annoy him anymore?"

"It's not a mistake. Mel is marrying you because he loves you, I can tell by the way he looks at you Tasha." I dried her eyes before her tears ruined her makeup. "Today's your day, make the best of it." I told her.

She smiled and gave me a hug, squeezing me tight. "Thank you Brandee."

"Anytime, I'll see you at the ceremony." I said, walking out the room.
