It was the tenth of April, the day of the Opening Ceremony for schools and their students.
"Honey! Come downstairs, breakfast's ready!" said a woman's voice. Sera dressed up in his school uniform and walked down to the kitchen.
"Good morning," said Sera.
His parents replied with the same phrase. They weren't his biological parents; Sera was adopted as a baby. However, that didn't let him love them any less. Overall, they were a happy family, not rich or poor.
He ate breakfast with his parents and prepared to head off to school.
"Enjoy your first day, dear! Say hi to your friends for us!" told him his parents before he left.
When he stepped outside, the blanket of warm sunshine covered him instantaneously. His house on was close to the outskirts of Tengu city, yet the school he attended wasn't far away. In addition, it was a very prestigious school. One of the most prestigious in the country by the name of Raizen High, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Since a few years back, nationwide alarm systems were implanted, and bunkers have been built around almost every corner of the city to protect the populace from spacequakes.
When Sera arrived at school, he went to his classroom, which was identified as 2-4. Some students were already inside, most notably his two good friends. Their names were Shido Itsuka and Hiroto Tonomachi. They sat in the column next to the window, right behind each other. Shido sat at the very last row.
Hiroto's hair was grey, matching his eyes, and Shido's was blue.
"Hey, guys," said Sera.
"Ah, Sera. Welcome, I was just telling Itsuka here how all three of us being in the same class once more must have been ordained by fate."
Shido looked tired of Tonomachi's babble.
"It's definitely a nice coincidence, I agree," replied Sera.
Suddenly, Tonomachi's phone beeped.
"Oh, excuse me. It's my girlfriend."
"Since when have you had a girlfriend?" asked Shido, surprised.
"Well, don't let us disturb you," said Sera and giggled.
"It's no issue, let me introduce you. Here."
He turned the phone and showed them a picture of his "girlfriend". Shido instantly frowned.
"That's a dating sim!"
"A girlfriend is a girlfriend. Stop being so close-minded!"
"You can call whatever your girlfriend, but we thought you meant a real girlfriend. A human girl, you know?" said Sera.
"You say that, but these games teach the user all one needs to know about interacting with women! They're practically textbooks on dating. This "Fall in Love: My little seed" is real-time and is especially--"
