"So, what are you gonna do with Takashi?", I asked Miya.
Reki suddenly stopped his skateboard next to Miya and I, and spoke up. "What about Takashi?". "None of your buisness, thats what", Miya replied bitterly. I gave Reki a smile and answer the question. "Takashi kinda confessed to Miya". "Kinda?", Reki asked. "It seems like he's had a crush on Miya for a while now, am I right?". Miya rolled his eyes before deciding to join in on the conversation.
"He's told me that he realised he liked me after he'd seen me and Hunter kiss eachother at the arcade last weekend. And he tought it was a good idea to confess..".
"Well?", Reki asked Miya. "Well what?", he replied. "What did you say to him?". "I didn't know what to say to him. I've known him for so long and even tho things haven't always been that great between us, he's still my friend..". "You've atleast told him you didn't like him back, right?", Reki asked, but Miya didn't reply. He looked down at the ground. "Right, Miya?", Reki asked again. "As I already told you, I didn't know what to say so I just told him I was fine with it..".
"Miya? I don't think that's fair to Hunter..", Reki said trying to get Miya to take a hint. Miya suddenly stood up. "Takashi is my friend and who are you to decide for me what I do and what I don't tell him!", he shouted. "Well, if..", Reki started wanting to get in an argument with Miya, but I interupted him before he could. "I'm fine with it Reki. I know Miya would never do something like that". Miya sat back down before speaking up again. "Now get lost. You're not part of this conversation", Miya said to Reki. Reki shook his head and skated away. I turned my head towards Miya and spoke up. "Don't talk to Reki like that. He's only trying to help", I said as I stood up. I stepped on my skateboard and followed Reki. "Hunter!", I heard Miya say out load, but I ignored him.
~~~~~
After a long night of skating, Reki and I went back home. I sat down on his bed after having dinner and taking a nice long shower. I took out my phone and went to Miya's chat. I wanted to tekst him, but all I could do was stare at the screen. The line appearing and dissapearing..
"You're not okay with it, are you?", Reki suddenly said standing in the middle of the room. After a few seconds of doubt, I shook my head no..
"What's happening between me and Miya?", I asked with a sad tone.
"Hunter? What's going on?", Reki said as he walked towards the bed and sat down next to me. "It's just that.. I feel like I'm loosing him.. and not just because of Takashai, but..", I stopped not knowing if I should continue.
Reki doesn't know about the incident at the restaurant and what happened at school today..
"But what?", he asked.
I sighed before continuing. "Miya took me to a restaurant a few days ago and there was this.. Father who wanted us to leave the restaurant because he didn't want his children to see a gay couple.. and today at school I was picked on because they knew I liked boys and I didn't know what to do. Miya was there at school and helped me get rid of the bullies. I don't even know what would've happened if Miya hadn't showed up, but ever since.. I don't know what he thinks anymore.. we don't talk..", I explained.
Reki put his hand on my knee before speaking up. "Believe it or not, but Langa and I experienced something similar a week ago. Even though it was small, it had an impact". I looked up at Reki with a worried expression. "What happened to you?". "Well.. Langa and I were walking through the mall and Langa insisted on holding on to my arm. He gets a bit clingy sometimes. Which I don't mind! But I'm not sure about it in public. Anyways, people were staring. I could feel it left and right. At one point, there was indeed this family. The mother hid the children behind her while the father stood infront of his family. Like we were a threat or something".
Reki put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in. I leaned my head against his shoulder and continued listening. "The point I'm trying to make is that Langa and I got through it because we communicated about it. Ofcourse langa is gonna make mistakes and so am I, but as long as we continue to talk about it and promise to never keep secrets from eachother, we can work it out".
I listened to every word Reki said, and I knew he was right. Miya and I have stopped really talking since. I guess we both wanted to be strong for eachother, but I guess when it's Miya and I, we don't have to be.
"I'm really sorry that happened to you as well", I spoke up, "but nonetheless, thank you. You always give such great advice..".
Reki put his other arm around me as well and embraced me. "You and Miya are perfect for eachother. And this is just the beginning. I'm sure you guys are gonna have more ups and down, but you'll get through it. And you can always come to me to talk about something".
I smiled into Reki's chest and let go of him. "Then promise me you'll come to me if you need someone to talk to as well", I replied back.
Reki gained a smile on his face before lifting his pinky. "Pinky swear. I will do that", he said. I 'fulfilled' his pinky swear and stood up from his bed.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Reki".
"See you tomorrow, Hunter"
