Steve gladly took his shirt back. As he moved to put it on and stand up, a sharp pain shot through his whole body. Eddie stayed sitting down and watched as Steve tried to stand after saying he would be able to.
Steve turned to look at Eddie with his lips pressed together. "I need help." He looked defeated. Eddie smiled as he threw on a shirt of his own and his boxers.
Eddie got up and picked up Steve, bridal style. "This the help you wanted, pretty boy?" He carefully walked into the bathroom, kicking the door open.
"No but I'm not complaining." Steve wrapped his arms around Eddie's neck and his head snuggled onto his chest. Eddie lightly placed Steve down, letting him still latch on so he can stand.
Eddie turned the shower on and sat down on the bathroom floor with Steve on his lap. They quietly waited for the shower to heat up, Steve letting Eddie mess with his hair.
"Can you check the water temperature?" Eddie asked as he left a small kiss on the back of Steve's neck. Steve nodded as he reached forward, the now hot water hitting his skin.
"It's ready now," he spoke in a quiet tone. His throat still kinda hurt because of how rough Eddie was.
Eddie left one last kiss on the back of Steve's neck before helping him take his shirt off. Eddie carefully picked up Steve's again, making sure he didn't hurt him, and placed him in the bottom of the tub.
"I'll be right back, okay? I'm just gonna put the sheets in the wash and I'll join you." Eddie leaned over the tub to give Steve a kiss before standing up.
Steve nodded with a weak smile. He watched as Eddie left the bathroom, feeling lonely again. All he felt was the steam from the hot water closing in on him. Tears pricked his eyes once more, bringing his knees upto his chest.
He hugged himself, silently sobbing. "Eddie?" He called out. Shortly after, Eddie walked back into the bathroom.
"Yes, what's wrong?" Eddie sat down next to the tub and reached out for Steve's hand. They interlocked their fingers as Steve smiled again.
"I just felt really lonely." He looked down at their hands, not wanting to look at Eddie.
Eddie lightly smiled. "Then I'll clean the sheets and blankets later." He shrugged as he looked into Steve's eyes.
"Can you join me in the shower now?" His voice was more hoarse then before because of the crying. It broke Eddie's heart so he obviously gave in.
He pulled his hand away from Steve's as he undressed, getting into the shower with Steve. They sat face each other with a smile. Steve's never felt so safe and secure.
"Want me to wash your hair for you?" Eddie tilted his head, breaking the comfortable silence. Steve snapped out of his trance and nodded.
~Time Skip~
Steve was now sitting on the couch, wearing Eddie's pajamas and watching Golden Girls. His hair was pulled back into a small pony tail, that he didn't even know he could do. He was eating a grilled cheese that Eddie had made for him before he left. The smell of Eddie's clothes helped Steve feel less lonely.
Eddie was off at the laundry room washing the sheets and dirty clothes. His hair was also pulled back into a ponytail and wearing pajamas. He kicked opened the door to the laundry room, thankfully no one was washing clothes right now.
He placed down the basket, making it easier for him to open the washing machine. As he poured the basket of clothes and sheets into the washer, the door opened to the room. He turned and he made eyecontact with an obvious jock.
He had dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and a dirty look that definitely wasn't welcoming. He was wearing a basketball jersey, sweatpants, and dirty shoes.
Eddie turned his attention back to the laundry, acting like the boy wasn't there. Once he finished putting the sheets and clothes in the washer, he put some detergent and pressed start. When he turned to leave, the boy spoke up from behind him.
"You're that one dude from that metal band my girlfriend is obsessed with?" The nastiness in his tone made Eddie cringe.
Eddie turned to face him with a fake smile. "Who's your girlfriend? Does she go here? I'd be honored to sign something for her." He leaned against the door frame, making eyecontact with the other.
"In fact, she does go here and she freaked out because she met you."
"Was it Chrissy or Samantha? Samantha didn't know I was in a band, unless she lied, so I'm guessing Chrissy."
"Chrissy, and no, I don't want a freak like you to sign anything for my girlfriend." He inched closer to Eddie.
"Okay, have a good day." Eddie shrugged as he walked out of the laundry room. The blonde didn't even try to chase after him and just stood there, shocked.
Eddie felt accomplished as he opened the door to the dorm. Steve shot up from the couch, making Eddie laugh.
"I see someone's missed me." Eddie softly placed down the basket as he pulled Steve into his embrace. "Wanna order some takeout then get to bed?"
Steve nodded once more, not saying anything. Eddie smirked into the hug as he picked Steve up, reserving a yelp. Steve wrapped his legs around Eddie's waist with a smile. Eddie walked into the kitchen area, sitting Steve down on the counter.
"Do you know any fast food place numbers around here?" Eddie asked, turning to pick the phone up from the receiver.
"Uh, not off the top of my head." Steve crossed his arms over his chest as he thought.
Eddie was also thinking of places before he called Argyle and Jonathan's room. It rung for about three seconds.
"Jonathan speaking, who's this?"
"Hey, it's Eddie. Do you know any fast food numbers around here?" He bit the skin around his nail as there was shuffling on the other line. Steve looked over at Eddie with a confused look.
"You have a pen and paper available? I just pulled out like ten pamphlets." Jonathan let out a little laugh through the phone.
"Steve, could you get me a piece of paper and pen?" Eddie asked as he pulled the phone away from his face. He brought it back once Steve got off the counter and into his room. "One second."
"How's living with Steve?" He felt Jonathan's stupid smirk through the phone.
Eddie had remembered what had happened just a few hours ago. His face went red as he went to answer. "I-It's been fine." Eddie's voice became high pitched as Steve handed him the pen and paper.
"Are you o-"
"Give me the numbers." Eddie quickly cut Jonathan off as he turned to face away from Steve.
Jonathan listed off the numbers and what type of food they sell. Most of them were pizza places, which was expected. "Also, why did your voice get so high pitched when I asked about Steve?"
"What are you talking about?" Eddie looked back at Steve who was now sitting on the couch again.
"Di- Did you and Steve have sex?" Jonathan basically shouted so loud into the phone.
Eddie internally freaked out. "What? No! We didn't have sex. What are you talking about?" Steve now tuned in and turned his head to look at Eddie.
"You're lying."
"I'm not lying."
"Yes, you are."
"Okay, goodnight Jonathan." Eddie hung up the phone and smiled towards Steve. "Time to order food."
