A/N: I'd like to point out that Max is not Max Mayfield but an OC of mine
Eddie woke up the next morning to heavy rain hitting his window. He sat up and yawned as he stretched out his arm. Turning over, he expected to see Steve asleep at his side, but he wasn't. Odd. The long-haired boy decided to get up and go look for his companion.
Soon enough, he could smell bacon and the popping of oil.
"Good morning, Harrington." Eddie yawned as he leaned against the counter next to the stove. "I see you slept well by how messy your hair is and making breakfast." He smiled while crossing his arms over his chest.
Steve just nodded and didn't respond. He kept his attention on the breakfast, and Eddie took notice.
"Not in a talking mood this morning?" He tilted his head as Steve nodded again in response. "Okay, I'm gonna make..." Eddie turned to the coffee pot, seeing coffee was already made. "-Coffee." He sighed while grabbing a mug and filling it.
Eddie decided to sit and watch some news while drinking his coffee. The news was just some stupid weather forecast and updates on stupid stuff. soon, the landline phones all rang, and Eddie answered the one next to the couch.
"Munson speaking, who's calling?" He answered with a yawn.
"Hey! It's Gareth! Long time no talk. I tried to call earlier, but Harrington answered." His voice rang as he was very energetic. It was early in the morning, too.
Eddie then looked over at Steve, who had finished making the bacon and was now cleaning the pan, then looked back in front of him.
"What did you say to him?" He whispered.
Gareth went quiet before responding. "Uuuh, just how he's been, and I apologized for last time."
"Good, you better have apologized. You better have meant it, too."
"Jeez, calm down, Munson." Gareth chuckled. "But how have you been? We miss you over here."
He sighed and closed his eyes. "I've been okay. I was thinking about visiting once spring break hit. We could go do something for Easter or something."
"Who are you talking to?" Steve finally spoke while sitting down next to him.
He shrugged and spoke up. "Gareth."
"What?"
"Again, I was answering Steve, not talking to you. But, anyway, yeah, we should do something for Easter. Like go out and eat with the band or something like that." Eddie changed the topic back to spring break.
Gareth hummed on the other end. "Sure, why not? I'll talk to the boys about it. When's your break?"
Eddie thought as he looked up at the ceiling. "In like two weeks."
"Jesus, thanks for letting me know early." Gareth let out a breathy chuckle before going quiet. Too quiet. "Hey, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later. Have a good day, Eds!"
"Bye, Gareth." Eddie sighed as he hung up and looked over at Steve. "You talked to Gareth earlier?"
"Mhmm, why do you ask?" Steve had his attention set on the TV in front of them. "He asked how I was doing and apologized... You're going to visit for spring break?"
Eddie nodded with a slight smile. "Yeah, I miss the band and that stupid town. Are you going back home for break to visit the band?"
Steve shrugged with a sigh. "I'm not sure, but I already cleaned out your van when you were still asleep. I was bored and wanted to keep myself busy."
