"Hello?" Gareth's voice echoed through the phone. Eddie froze at his best friends voice.

"Gareth? It's Eddie!" He smiled as he played with the cord.

Gareth gasped from the other end. "Eddie! How's college been?"

"It's been fine, you won't believe who my dorm mate is." Eddie looked over at the bedroom door, as if he waited for Steve to talk in.

"Who is it?"

"Steve Harrington." Eddie laughed a bit but stopped because the other line went silent. "Hello?"

Gareth took a little to think of a response. "Are you guys getting along?"

"I mean, kinda."

"After everything you've put eachother through?"

"Yeah."

Gareth took a deep, loud breath. "Whatever makes you happy, dude. Just don't hookup with eachother." He laughed a little.

"About tha-"

"You guys hooked up!?" Gareth yelled as a loud crash happened on the other line.

Eddie flinched a little, pulling the phone away from his ear. "Yeah. Listen, it was in the moment and I'm not even going to lie, it was kinda good."

"I can't believe you right now. I cannot bel- Steve Harrington? Really, Eddie?" Gareth made fake puking sounds, causing Eddie to laugh.

Steve walked into the room with a towel around his waist and raised an eyebrow to Eddie. "Who are you talking to?"

"Gareth." Eddie answered with a smile.

"What?" Gareth answered, confusion laced his voice.

"No, I wasn't talking to you, I was answering Steve."

"Put Steve on the phone right now."

"No, last thing I want is you talking to Steve."

"He wants to talk to me?" Steve came over to Eddie and sat on his lap. He took the phone from him. "Hello?"

"Why isn't it Harrington?" Gareth's voice strayed far from the phone, picking something up.

"Yeah, this is?" Steve looked over at Eddie, squinting his one eye.

"So, you and Eddie?"

"What about Eddie and I?" Steve didn't look away from Eddie and Eddie knew he fucked up.

"You guys hooked up, I heard." Gareth felt accomplished somehow.

Steve nodded, licking the inside of his cheeks. "Eddie told you that?"

"Mhhhm, sure did."

"Okay," Steve handed the phone to Eddie, without any words. He got up and started to change into his pajamas.

"I gotta go. Night, Gareth." Eddie placed the phone down on the receiver and looked over at Steve. "I'm sorry."

"Okay." Steve shrugged as he got into bed.

Eddie shook his head with a huff. "That's all you're gonna say?"

"Yup, I'd suggest you sleep in your own bed." Steve sat up, looking at Eddie with his arms crossed.

"Really?"

"Yes, really. I didn't want people to know about what we did. Only we should know." Steve frustratedly pushed his wet hair back. "It's the fucking late 80's for crying out loud. We could get beat half to death."
