"I have to meet him!" Larissa protested as we headed to dinner.
Finally it was Friday. I'd survived the week.
"Maybe." I said slightly mysteriously, teasing Larissa.
She gave a playful glare, "oh I have my ways..."
We both laughed as we pushed the heavy cafeteria doors open and strode inside.
Foxfoot academy wasn't as bad as I'd thought in some ways. But in other ways it was unimaginably worse.... kind of a toss up.
Will and Dan beat us to the table that we always sat at, Larissa and I joining them a few minutes later.
They were deep in conversation but stopped abruptly as we walked up. Will glanced nervously at Larissa, Dan punched him looking as if it was meant to appear as a joke. Ya, no one bought his "joke" we knew he was dead serious. About what, I had no idea, but what ever it was, Will was not allowed to speak of it.
"What are you two talking about?" Larissa questioned carefully, taking notice of their odd behavior.
"Nothing." they both snapped back in nervous unison.
I raised an eyebrow, silently interrogating Will. He wouldn't budge.
Larissa and I exchanged glances, knowing they were up to something.
I stretched behind Larissa and Will, poking Dan in the arm.
He turned his head toward me, arching his brow.
"What were you two talking about?" I yell-whispered, pointing back and forth at him and Will.
He glanced nervously at Larissa, and mouthed, "tell you later."
I nodded, leaning back to an upright position, though I was still quite confused.
But it didn't matter to much to me because Chris was coming tonight, and that would make my sometimes dismal world a whole lot brighter.
Larissa was more then a little upset by her boyfriend's secrecy and stalked off in a huff as soon as dinner ended.
I, however, stuck around to figure out their secretive topic.
"So what was it?" I prodded, sitting backward and leaning on the table and casually sipping my water.
Dan scanned the room to make sure Larissa had left.
Will couldn't help himself and blurted it out, "Dan slept with another girl!"
Immediately I spit out my water in shock, "WHAT?!" I yelled, wiping my mouth and staring at them in utter bewilderment.
"It was an accident!" Dan defended.
"Ya, cause that kinda stuff happens accidentally." I agreed sarcastically, narrowing my eyes at him.
"I swear it was accidental!" Dan argued, crossing his arms childishly.
"She's gonna kill you."
"No she wont." Dan concluded, looking pretty confident.
"Why not?" I asked skeptically.
"Cause you are not going to tell her."
"Who's gonna stop me!" I questioned rhetorically, raising to my feet with hands on hips.
"Me!" Dan confirmed, also standing up.
"Ya right." I scoffed, turning to walk away.
"Oh no you don't!" Dan picked me up around the waist, throwing me over his shoulder.
