In a beautiful sunny day in Zon city, School was finally over for the summer and cannot wait to do some endless gaming with my friends. I saw my friends Fox and Falco coming out of their classroom, and threw their school stuff away with excitement.

"Man, those final tests are a pain." Fox says.
"Tell me about it. There is always going to be a stupid test on the last day of school." Falco says.
"Sup guys." I greeted as I went to them
"Hey Stan! How are you doing?" Fox says as he offered me a fist bump.
"Doing good. Finally junior year is over, thinking of doing some more Call of Duty Warzone. You guys want to join on that online session tonight?" I asked.
"Well about that, Peppy want us to get summer jobs this summer." Fox says with disappointment.
"Why? No need to work yet." I spoke.
"Bud, we just finished junior year, one more year and we are on our own on the streets or off to college. We cannot have just fun forever." Falco explains.
"Well yeah but come on, new season on the update." I suggest.
"Stan listen, in the real world, we must work for a living, the way life is just the way it is. Maybe you should think about getting a summer job as well." Fox explains.
Just then their ride arrives and Peppy honk the horn.
"That is our ride, Stan. Remember what we told you." Falco says as he pats my back and left with Fox.
I was in deep thought about what they said. we just finished junior year and they are right. I went to the subway underground and took the train home from the city and headed to the suburb neighborhood where I live. We all have one life, and we do not stay young forever and it is the truth of reality. You live long as you evolve from a child to an adult and then you perish.
As I reached my street, I have been noticing some police cars and an ambulance there and what is worse, they are parked to my house. I ran there with severe concern that something might have happened to my parents. As I was about to run in a female anthro police officer grabbed me in time.

"Whoa! Whoa! You cannot go in there!" She said as she lets go.
"But I live here! And I must see that my parents are okay!" "I shouted as I tried to run inside.
"I'm sorry but you can't go in! Because your mother is infected with Covid-19, and we are trying to prevent the spreading of the infection." She explains as she pulled me back.
"What?!" I shouted.
I saw my mother Audrey being escorted out of the house with a couple of paramedics from the front door and took her in the ambulance. She started coughing badly and wheezing as she was laying down. I was severely worried about my mother having the most horrible virus that caused the pandemic.
"Don't worry she will be okay. She doesn't have a severe case of it but she has to be in quarantine for a week at the hospital by mandatory law." The anthro cop says.
"Can I see her for a minute?" I asked.
"I'm afraid not because you will get the infection. But you can visit her after she was safe in the quarantine ward." The police officer says.
After my mother was safety taken to the hospital, I had to wait outside while the house had to be disinfected. I wonder how my dad would react about this. Well, I just hope my mom will recover. When everyone started to leave, I had to take a Covid 19 test. I gave them a swab sample of my spit and the results were negative, which is good for me, or I had to be sent to the hospital as well for quarantine.
Ever since the the Covid-19 breakout last year, the empress of the city took precautions seriously since some humans and furs went in critical condition or died by the infection since the infection can be deadly to some people that had pre-condition problems. But it started to calm down, but the quarantine law is still in effect.
Later during the evening, I went to my room and went on my Xbox series X to play the new update of Call of Duty Warzone with others online. Too bad my best friends did not have time to join in like always, but which made me think about the advice they gave me.
I put the controller down and decided to get on my computer to look for any easy jobs to join. I didn't know what to choose since I never thought of skills except doing digital art and creative writing. But decided to do fast food since it is the easiest job to start with.
Just then, my father Rox came home with worry since I bet the authorities called him at work about mom being taken to quarantine to recover.
"Hey Dad."
"Hey son, is your mom, okay? I heard what happened." Rox says as he hugged me tight.
"The paramedics say she is not in critical condition, but she has to be in quarantine for a week for her to recover." I explained.
"Well, I hope she will be okay. Jesus... You did not get it, did you?" He asked.
"Don't worry, the test is negative,"
"Well, Ill start dinner soon, while I go check on the bills for the month first." Rox says as he left my room.
I went back on the computer and looked for available fast-food jobs to do and I found one that is only down the street of where we live so I can just easily walk there. It was a McDonald's restaurant since I found out that the pay is good, and I can get part-time there to start for the summer.
I started filing out the application and put down my information and my availability and sent the application online. I just wondered how it will go.
