As morning came everyone woke slowly. I hadn't been able to sleep much after seeing the riders on the cliff and O'Connell stayed awake to keep us on the right track.

O'Connell stops his camel as voices get closer to our group. The Americans come around the bend of a large dune with all their diggers.

"Good morning my friend." The weasley-looking man who is leading the Americans calls out. I roll my eyes at him grateful that my veil hides the sneer on my face.

"What the hell we doin'?" One of the Americans, the blond one, asks sounding impatient as we all wait. Altair stomps on the sand and his ear started flicking back and forth as the sun starts to rise.

"Patience, my good barat'm. Patience." The weasel man says without even looking at the American and he sounds bored as we wait.

"Remember our bet O'Connell," The blond American starts, leaning forward in his saddle. "First one to the city, 500 cash bucks." He finishes with a smirk.

"Hundred of them buck is yours if you help us win that bet." One of the other Americans tells the weasel man. I roll my eyes and gently pat Altair's neck.

"Oh, my pleasure." The man sneers as he looks at O'Connell. "Hey, O'Connell nice camel." O'Connell scoffs and pats his camel's head as the sun gets higher.

"Get ready for it," O'Connell mutters to us.

"For what?" Evy asks following O'Connell's gaze as the sun finally rose over the horizon.

"We're about to be shown the way." He answers as a shape shimmers into being far out from where we are.

"Will Ya look at that." The American with dark hair breathes.

"Can you believe it?" The one with glasses asks.

"Hamunaptra." The blond says with a grin.

"Here we go again." O'Connell groans as the world seems to stop for a moment and then start again with a loud crash. Everyone takes off as fast as we can to race into the city. I was at the front of the middle group where I could clearly see the city and Evy in the lead.

"GO EVY GO!" I shout as she pulls ahead to the very front of the group. I cheered when she made it into the city and slowed Altair down from his gallop to a walk, letting out a breath when I pass through the main gate feeling dread settle in my stomach.

We set up camp quickly and O'Connell went off to the American's camp to get his money. I was spreading out the blankets that we would sleep on for the nights we were here as My siblings and the warden walk off.

Altair was with the other horses a little ways away from the camps with his saddle and reigns. Evy was directing Jonathan on how to move a mirror as they stood near a statue of Anubis.

As soon as I was done setting up camp, I walked away, almost in a trance as I follow a pull to an archway. I look around in awe from the vantage point I had found looking around at the entire city. While I was standing there the ground started to give way and I fell straight through the hole that had opened up.

I land in a heap on the sandy floor, hissing at the pain in my ankle and wrist. I was glad that I had taken my weapons and veil off while setting up the camp.

"Can anyone hear me?" I call out looking up at the hole I had fallen through. "Fuck I'm lucky I didn't break anything." I breathe seeing how far up the hole is. I stagger to my feet not putting much weight on my, likely sprained, ankle. The room I was in was mostly dark as I search for a light source.

"Shit." I curse tripping over something in the dark and bracing my hand on top of what I tripped over. It moves under my hand, and it catches the light streaming through the hole, the entire room lights up with the mirror trick that Evy talks about so much.
