Part One- La Mirage College

It was a stormy night. Thunder and lightning cracking high above the city and rain pouring heavily onto the streets. The subway was damp with the water running off of people. I was in a busy train coming home from my office job. I lived downtown with my two girlfriend's and so working uptown meant I had to catch the train to work and then home every day. Tonight was particularly wet and unfortunately I had forgotten my umbrella this morning. Which meant that I wasn't looking forward to the three block walk in the rain once I reached my stop. It also didn't help that I was wearing my typical suit for work which included a white shirt. My business jacket wasn't really designed to close over large breasts like my own so my now see through top was being covered by my crossed arms. I could see a lot of men trying to sneak a peak which was really bothering me. Whereas I work uptown my two girlfriend's work closer to home. Aleisha is an assistant florist and works a couple of blocks from home during the day. Nadia works in a cafe, her shifts started early but are usually over by mid-afternoon.Then there was me, I work in an office as a data analyst.
I gritted my teeth as the train came into my station. I put my bag in front of my chest and walked out of the metro train. I was pleasantly surprised to see Aleisha, standing close to the exit with a large umbrella. She was smiling, her mouse blonde hair down and slightly frizzy from the weather. "I am so happy to see you" I told her before kissing her. "I saw your umbrella at home when I got home from work so I thought I'd come meet you with one" she told me as we ascended the stairs. She put the umbrella up and we walked closely together, heading home. "How was work babe?" She asked me trying to make conversation. "Same as usual I guess" I told her. "How's the florist going?" I asked her. "They just hired another assistant so my shifts are being cut back" she told me sounding annoyed. "At least that gives you more time to practice" I told her, reffering to the entrance exams for the magical college we were all trying to join. Both my girlfriend's were already average spellcasters but personally I struggled with even the simplest of spells. "You know I'm not the one who needs practice" she retorted. "I just can't seem to connect to mana like you two can" I said feeling frustrated. "You'll get there babe. Just keep practicing" Aleisha comforted me. We chatted a bit more before getting home. Our building was a massive apartment building. There was a door on the side of the building that led to the apartments for magical beings. Nadia's mother bought the apartment for her before she met us. Nadia is a scyer and so instead of looking up girls on a dating app or in person like a normal person she found who her soulmates were supposed to be by scrying. She found Aleisha who is half dark elf with a natural connection to mana and then she found me who was a normal person without any knowledge of magic. They had both tried to teach me but had found that I had something that blocked my connection to the mana around us. Our apartment took up an entire sub-basement. We each had our own bedrooms but more often than not we all shared a bed.
As we entered our apartment we could smell that something delicious was cooking. We kicked off our shoes and I headed straight for my shower. Afterwards I came out into my bedroom and changed into my pyjamas. I put my clothes into the washing machine. I felt someone hug me from behind and then I made out Nadia kissing ny cheek from behind me. "I missed you today my love" she told me. I turned around to see her beautiful green eyes below her fringe, her short brown hair and her usual black clothes. Nadia is a traditional witch from a long line of witches dating back to when magical beings roamed the earth freely. Just Being around her I could feel the mana on my skin like static electricity. "I'll be home until Tuesday so we have all weekend together darling" I explained to her. She suddenly stepped back like she was about to fall over. She grabbed her head like she had a horrendous migraine all of a sudden. She seemed to catch her breath and then told me "I've just received news that our testing will be on Sunday". I leaned against the washing machine. "Both you and Allie are naturals, you'll both pass for sure" I told her. "I'm worried about you Lav. Your spellwork is still so poor". I put my hand on her shoulder "I'll do fine. I have a good feeling" I told her attempting to reassure her. We walked into the dining area and found Aleisha serving our dinner. Nadia had made a delicious soup, it warmed me up and tasted amazing.
After dinner we were all laying on the couch cuddling and giggling together. I could tell they were both worried about me but I really did have a good feeling about the testing and my feelings were almost always right.
