At La Mirage college Ancient Magic was the equivalent of a normal schools history class. Of course ancient magic was an elective class for the God races. The headmistress had insisted I attend it as an ancient species myself. So far in the two months of being in this class I had studied about Primordial magic beings, the original pantheon and most interesting the origin of the Dark Elves. This was because their secret origin was only allowed to be known by the gods. The truth being that the Dark Elves were from a completely different dimension. The original Dark Elves being known as Daek Elfien. Powerful God like beings that attempted to conquer the Multiverse and that had managed to kill all of the original Pantheon. It wasn't until the Fae created the High Elves that our dimension stood a chance. The Dark Elves since then have had their power majorly diluted. The Elder gods still hold a grudge and so the college believed it to be important to teach the younger gods about it early on. I didn't like keeping secrets from my girlfriend's but it wouldn't be the first. I'd learnt a lot of things that were only meant for gods to know. The truth behind many magical creatures including the Ancient witches that traded the souls of thousands for demonic powers. Nadia was a direct descendent of ancient witches and so I definetly couldn't tell her that. The school certainly had its own secrets that I'd found out about just by being a fairy. Over the last month I'd developed further senses. Now I could literally see Mana pools and who was connected to them. I could smell both corruption and purity amongst those with magic. The most interesting was how my fingers could now weave through dimensions. That scared me, the thought of becoming lost inbetween dimensions was giving me nightmares. I no longer needed the bracelet, I gave it back to Miss LeMuire who graciously accepted it once again.
On this particular day I was sitting in class taking notes about the creation of demi-gods. I knew we had a test coming up on the subject and I wanted to be ready. I was so heavily in thought about it that I hadn't even noticed when the teacher had stopped talking. I looked up from my notes to see the full room now completely empty. Not just the teacher and students were gone but so was all of the furniture. The lighting fixtures had changed into lanterns and candles too. "The royal family left over a melenium ago. Why do we have to keep hunting them?" A young man asked from behind me. I turned around to see a boy with short black hair sitting on a barrel. He seemed to be talking to an older witch. "The excuse is that they will always be a threat but we can gain so much from the overlords from each fairy soul we harvest" the older witche told him. I gasped falling off my chair and then suddenly coming back to my own familiar classroom. The teacher and students were all looking at me. "I think I need to go see the nurse" I told the teacher who then told me I could leave. Tora came with me and asked "is everything okay? You freaked out, like out of knowhere". I decided this was something I needed to see the headmistress about. I started heading in the direction of her office. "I just saw something. I've been developing all these Fairy powers and this new one gave me a fright. It's something I think only the headmistress can help me with" I explained to her still reeling from the vision. Upon arriving at the office the headmistress was talking with another student outside her office but quickly hurried them away upon seeing me. We walked in and sat down together. I explained what I had seen and afterwards she told me "It seems that your fairy vision is developing exponentially. I've lived a long time and haven't seen another fairy in at least half my lifetime. I do no that they have abilities beyond all imagining though. Including the sight of the Fae. An ability that allows them to witness the past to answer any question they may have been pondering. Perhaps you were thinking about other fairies and so your vision activated showing you this historic conversation" she explained from across her desk. "Headmistress they mentioned hunting fairies in exchange for great power. How did that work?" I asked leaning forward. She looked at Mr for a moment as if trying to decide whether I should know some dark secret or not. "In class they taught you that the ancient witches gave the souls of innocents to demons in exchange for great power" she said before removing her glasses and rubbing her eyes. "The truth is they hunted and gave the devil himself fairies. The demons used their raw magic to create a dimension known simply as hell. A home for all demonic kind" the headmistress explained to us. Tora looked horrified "did they hunt fairies out of extinction?" She asked, looking unprepared to hear the worst. "Yatala, the fairy king helped the remaining earth fairy's escape to their own dimension" the headmistress explained to us. "I thought the Fairy Royal family died out thousands of years ago?" I asked now confused. "They simply left Earth to the pantheon to run. They were a peaceful people and Earth has far to many war mongering species" the headmistress told me answering my question. "Unfortunately I still can't explain how you came to be here Lavara, but perhaps if you can train this new ability of yours you may find the answer you seek. Be warned though. You may not like the answer" she told us. We left and went back to class. It seemed like Tora was worried about me during and then after class. I kept reassuring her that I was alright.
That evening we were talking in my domain. "I'm okay, it's just given me a lot to ponder about" I attempted to reassure her for the thousandth time that day. I felt like I'd made such a good friend in Tora. She really seemed to genuinely care about me. We suddenly felt a quake shake the domain. It felt like thunder clashing in a horrible storm. "What is that?!" I asked panicked. "Someone is trying to forcefully enter your domain from outside the school" Tora told me looking very panicked. "Anyone who can even attempt that is crazy powerful. We should prepare for a fight" she stated seeming confident. She powered up by having lightning strike her. When I looked at her she was now in full battle armor and holding Mjolnir, the great battle hammer of the original Thor. I wasn't sure how to power up like that so I just enveloped myself in my power. Something unexpected happened and I changed completely. My hair braided and ending in metal spikes. My top half covered by an Anti-Mithril breast plate and Anti-Mithril gloves with sharp points for the finger tips. My bottom half was coveted by an Anti-Mithril chain mail and boots ending in sharp points. I also held a staff of pure Fairy-Wood. A magic tree that had been extinct for over two thousand years now.
"Woah" was all Tora said when she saw how badass I looked. "Too much?" I asked. "You look so badass girl" she told me with a wide grin. I chuckled and then focused my attention on the large crack that appeared in the sky of my domain. Tora looked grim and serious "Get ready their about to come through".
