The second the clock struck midnight, indicating that it was now Tuesday, a portal appeared in our living room. The three of us entered, hand in hand. The portal led us to a massive entrance hall. "This must be La Mirage college" I said stating the obvious. We heard a sucking sound behind us and tuned to see the portal was now gone. "Welcome ladies" a high pitched voice greeted us. Flying slightly above the ground in front of us was a small man. "I am a Hermes. We are messagers for the school and we also escort new students to their dormitories" the small man explained. We all muttered a "hi" to the small man before he told us "please follow me and I'll guide you to where you need to be" he said before turning and flying in a direction that led upstairs of the hall. On the way to wherever he was leading us he told us "I've heard the three of you are very talented young women. The school is very excited to have you". We smiled towards one another feeling overjoyed that we were just here together. "We're looking forward to meeting the faculty as well" Nadia told the Hermes in response. "Sorry, while the faculty is grateful to have you here, I was talking about the buildings themselves. You see the school is actually an ancient living being, a Golem of sorts" he explained. I brushed my hand against the wall. My hand began to glow and I put it down quickly hoping no one else had noticed. After leading us down an assortment of corridors we entered a common room. "This is the dormitory for Nadia and Aleisha. You'll find the women's baths and beds just down that corridor" he said pointing towards a doorway beside some lively paintings. "We don't want to be in a separate dormitory from Lavara" Aleisha told him not wanting the three of us to be separated. The Hermes flew in close so only we could hear him. "Miss Lavara could hurt the students here by accident and so she'll be placed in a dormitory with goddesses who can handle her power lashing out in accident or otherwise" he told my girlfriend's reassuring them. He gave us a moment to kiss and hug before I left with him.
As we walked I became curious about this man. "Sir why are you called a Hermes?" He stopped for a moment and laughed out loud. "Please just call me Hermes" he said as if he didn't need the respect I had given him. "We are called Hermes because we were modelled after out creater, the God Hermes. He created us to be nothing more than servants at the school" the Hermes explained. "Don't you have any ambitions of your own?" I asked him. "We were created without free will and so we don't have anything to live for other than to serve the staff and students of the school" he explained continuing. We were climbing the stairs of a tall tower. It seemed to go on for a while. "If you ever want free will just let me know and I'll try to give it to you" I told the Hermes. "Miss you are very kind but it's against the rules of the school to meddle with such things. You should probably not mention this conversation to anyone" he told me. We arrived at a door and upon entering the room I was in awe at the absolute size of it. It must have been some kind of powerful magic as it didn't seem physically possible to keep such a massive place at the top of a tower. "Hermes you may leave now" a woman wearing bright red boots told the small man. He left quickly without so much as a good luck or good bye. "My name is Tora. I'm the reincarnation of my ancestor Thor" she explained to me putting out her hand. I shook it, "hi I'm Lavara I'm a fairy" I told her straight out. "I know, Miss Lemuire told me all about you. She also told me how dangerous you are and that you'll need a powerful friend" she explained. "You would be wise to keep that fairy detail between us though. Fairies are uber powerful. Even gods fear them" she told me as we sat in a couple of arm chairs by a fireplace. "Can you tell me what you know about them?" I asked referring to fairies. "The royal bloodline of the Fae created magic itself. That ancient raw magic created the pantheon of gods. The rest is pretty self explanatory. The Fae have been missing for nearly half a millennium now though. You suddenly appearing has caused quiet a stir" she explained. "Do you know your own capabilities yet?" Tora asked me. "I can create matter from nothing" I told her. "That's a common ability amongst the gods. What I want to know is; just what are the limitations of a fairy?" She asked curious. "Is there somewhere private I can show you?" I asked. She got up and led me to a door. "Put your hand on the knob and open it. It will lead us to your own private room. I went to do as she asked and put the bracelet on. The door didn't do anything and so I yanked it off and tucked it away quickly. I then once again tried the door. This time it opened without any fuss. The room was more than a room. It was a forest clearing. Surrounded by trees, colourful flowers, a beautiful waterfall and a gorgeous looking cabin. "Interesring, I've always wondered what a fairies school domain would look like" Tora said after the door closed behind us. We sat by the waterfall and she asked "was that Ollie's bracelet?" I pulled the bracelet out of my pocket and showed her. "I'm not sure who it belonged to originally. It just helps keep my power under control while I'm wearing it" I explained to her. "It is Ollie's. He's the last incarnation of Odin and when he was at school his power would go berserk. He made that to help keep his power under control" she told me. She shook her head "anyway let's see what you can do!" She said excited. I put the bracelet back on and stood on top of a small boulder. I closed my eyes and thought about what I wanted. I opened them and lifted off the ground. Flying a good six feet in the air. Tora lifted off the ground as well and came level with me. She raised her left eyebrow. I put my hand out towards waterfall. A woman splashed out of the water and laid her body on the shore. She had a mermaid tail and wore a makeshift bikini top. Her hair went far down her body. "Hello Master, how has your day been?" She asked me. "Its been fun" I told her Flying down to her. "Would you like the name Meribal?" I asked her. "Thank you Master that is a wonderful name" she told me. "You may leave now" I told her and she swam back underwater. Tora looked shocked. "Did you.. Did you just create a Mermaid?" I smirked enjoying showing off. I pointed at whatever was pretending to be the Sun and a griffin flew towards us from it. I flew close to it and told it "would you like the name Eliza?" It squawked and then I waved my hand over its mouth. "Yes Master I would love that name" it told me. "If I gave you the ability to turn into a human would you be my gardener? You'll have free roam of my domain and I'll give you access to a small pool of magic" I asked the griffin. "Nothing would make me happier" it told me. I touched the griffin and it turned into a beautiful woman before flying towards the ground. Tora flew up to me. "Okay I'm impressed" she told me. "Keep watching the woman" I told her and we looked down towards her. She waved her hand and entire garden of vegetables and fruits began to grow. "You can give out magic?!" She asked in complete shock. "I created a magic pool just for creatures in this domain to use" I told her. "I'm staying on your good side" Tora said and I play punched her. "I like you. Your pretty cool so your good in my books" I told her. She blushed as we flew back towards the door to the domain. "You should definetly be careful with that bracelet until you have your power under control. Many people here can detect powerful magic. We left the room and I slipped the bracelet back on. "Thanks for the heads up" I told her appreciating her friendliness.
