Part Two- The Land of Lavara

We had walked through the portal together but unfortunately the portal opened up to a raging river. This had caused us to become seperated by the currents. The current was strange, it constantly changed directions and acted similar to a riptide. I swam upwards against the powerful current and I managed to see Aleisha crawl onto the shore. Then I felt a sharp pain against my head. The current took me again and I lost conciousness. Having hit my head against a large rock protruding out of the water.
When I gained conciousness again I appeared to be in a musty smelling shanty dwelling. I was on a rather hard bed with animal furs draped over my body. The pillow my head had been resting against smelled like a strong musk and looked very old. A large humanoid lizard-like creature walked into the shanty holding a small platter of food. "You're awake!" She exclaimed surprised. The lizard creature placed the platter down gently beside me. I backed up a little in the bed when it came closer to me. "No need to be frightened milady. The lizard people are proud citizens underneath the Fae" she told me attempting to calm my nerves. "I've never heard of the lizard people" I told the creature. She sat on the edge for the bed. "Where are you from young Fae?" It asked looking at me curiously. I worried that she was possibly sizing me up to eat. I wasn't sure what to tell the people of this place. I knew we had ended up in a world with fairies which is what I was hoping for. It was also a fact that I'd been seperated from Aleisha. I decided to play it safe and that I'd be best to give a false name. Before I answered her question I asked "have you seen a dark elf girl? She's roughly my age" she looked at me confused. "Fae are ageless. I don't know what your possible age could be" she told me. I decided to file that information away for later. "Sorry, I mean she looks as though she's in her twenties" at the time I didn't realise that the Lavaran sun cycle was almost twice as long as the Earthen one. "A hunting party came across a ten year old dark elf" she's currently under guard. "Why is she under guard?" I asked. It seemed like the lizard lady had forgotten her initial question which I was grateful about. "Does a person need a reason to lock up vicous creatures like those beasts?!" She basically spat out. I could tell there was some serious xenophobia against dark elves going on here. "Sorry milady but perhaps you hit your head a little harder than our physician realised. You seem to be asking some pretty common knowledge questions" the lizard lady stated putting a clawed hand against my forehead. "Perhaps I did" I said putting my hand against the large bump on the back of my head. It ached at the smallest of touches. "What is your name?" I asked the creature. "I'm Seriona, I'm the assistant to the physician of our town" she told me. "You can call me Milly" I told her giving a fake name. "I had an accident while visitig a friend and ended up in the river with her" I told Seriona. "Milady, is that dark elf your friend?" She asked bewildered. "She is only half dark elf. Her father was a powerful mage and advisor to my family. Hence why I like to check in on her from time to time" I told the lizard woman now lying so much I began to worry that I would become caught up in the lies. "Ah I see. I suppose she can't help her unfortunate mothers side then" she said to which I just gritted my teeth and smiled outwardly. "Exactly" I told the woman. The lizard woman placed the tray of food on my lap and told me "milady you need to eat to recover. I'll go see if I can sway the elder to let your friend be transferred into your custody. After all you are the highest ranking official we've had visit our township in decades. They'll probably want to throw a feast in your honour" she said smiling with her long and wide jaws before leaving me to eat. I ate whatever the food was. It was some kind of meat, some different cheeses and a couple of slices of bread. I ate greedily only now realising how hungry I am. I wondered just how long I had been out cold for. I hoped Allie had been treated alright. Things were going to be difficult for her in this world. I hated that.
Some time later some guards that were lizard men entered the shack I was in, they were accompanying Aleisha. They handed me a formal letter stating that she was now under my custody. They then bowed and left. As soon as they did Allie ran over to me and hugged me. I kissed her and saw just how dirty she was. "How long was I out for?" I asked her. "It's been three days since we came to this world" she simply said laying down on the bed next to me. "No wonder I was so hungry" I blurted out. "I saw you hit your head and did my best to follow your body until we ended up in this swamp. They found you first and then took me prisoner" Allie explained. "Well fortunately we ended up in the right world. Unfortunately though dark elves have a bad reputation here" I told her rolling over to face her. "I'm sorry Allie, I wouldn't have brought you with me if I knew how xenophobic the people here are towards dark elves" I said feeling horrible about it. Things really were going to be difficult for her here. "You know, I always went along with the idea that my father was a common human. That's not true though. He was really a powerful titan" she said looking up at the ceiling as she confessed a secret not even I knew. I sat up startled by the revelation. "The titans were the first creation of the original pantheon! That would make you at least a demi-god" I exclaimed. She sat up beside me. "You would think but no, I was never given the power I was supposed to have. I was supposed to be the first God of the dark elves but as I grew up and it was revealed that I had no special godly powers I was made into an outcast amongst my own people. It's why I ended up living in the city with my mother" she explained opening up to me. I hugged her "maybe your father has the answers?" I suggested. "I've never met him. He disappeared just before I was born" she told me. We talked no more about it, instead deciding to freshen up by having a shower together and putting on some fresh clothes. The clothes that had been prepared for me looked to be very regal. I did some alteration magic on them so that they looked and felt more natural and comfortable.
The lizard people did throw me a banquet. I met the townships elders and the current chieftain. Aleisha was seen as a servant or a civilian under my authority and was treated as such. I hated it but at least they weren't planning on eating her. At least that's what I kept thinking as I looked at the lizard peoples long mouths and beastly bodies.
We woke up hung over in the morning. Having drunk our fair share of wine. Our bed was full of naked, beautiful human women. The town mostly consisted of lizard people but there were also a few hundred humans and other species as well. The human women didn't seem to care about Allie being a dark elf at least. We just enjoyed their bodies as they had ours. Apparently it was a great honour to have sex with a fairy in this world so a group of four had come onto us at the banquet.
We stayed another day and gathered supplies. The chieftain had explained to me that the fairy capital was on the other side of the continent. We could fly most of the journey however the swamp was too thick and beyond it laid a desert that happened to be a no flying zone.
A troop of guards led us to the border of the swamp and after that we started to cross the desert. We were now officially on the first leg of our journey.
