(Scene fades to two weeks later at Rachel's house. Leo is seen reading the newspaper and sitting at the table in the kitchen with Andrew and Bree on either side of him. The headline on the front page of the paper reads "Monster Strikes Again")

Aunt Bree: Great. Another monster attack. That's the third one in the last several days.

Andrew: I know. This is already getting out of hand.

Leo: How many times do I have to say this? There is no monster. (tosses the newspaper to the side)

Aunt Bree: You can say that as many times as you want, Leo, but it still doesn't mean that you're right.

(Rachel then enters the kitchen wearing her pajamas. Andrew and Bree smile at her)

Andrew and Bree: Morning, Rachel.

(Rachel nods her head at them in silence)

Leo: (anxiously) Uh, morning, Rachel.

(Rachel glances at Leo and glares at him before turning away in anger. She grabs a bagel, an apple, and a glass of water and exits the kitchen to go back up to her room. Leo lets out a sad sigh)

Leo: She's been giving me the silent treatment ever since her birthday. This can't go on.

Andrew: You think I don't know that? But it's not going to get any better until YOU apologize.

Leo: I tried talking to her, but she just won't listen to me.

Aunt Bree: Can you blame her for being angry? I certainly don't.

(Leo makes an uncomfortable grimace as he takes a sip of coffee from his mug)

Andrew: Well, it's just about time to head to work. (eats the rest of his bagel and stands up from his chair)

Leo: Right, right. (sips the rest of his coffee and stands up from his chair)

Aunt Bree: I'll get the dishes, as usual. (stands up from her chair, grabs the dishes, and heads towards the sink)

(Andrew and Leo grab their things and head for the door until Andrew stops Leo)

Andrew: Look, love. I know you're upset, but this has gone on long enough. You've had more than enough time to think about all of this. I suggest you make up with our daughter or you'll be sleeping on the sofa for the rest of your life.

Leo: Okay, okay. I'll think of something, I promise. (opens the door)

Aunt Bree (from the kitchen): See you boys later tonight.

Andrew: See ya, sis.

Leo: Bye. (he and Andrew walk out the door and he closes the door behind them. Leo then grabs his axe from the stump, shares a quick kiss with Andrew, and they head off in different directions to go to work)

(Scene cuts to inside the kitchen. Aunt Bree is seen cleaning the dishes in the sink)

Aunt Bree: Why does Leo always have to be so stubborn? That man is as bullheaded as a mule. I get that he wants his only child to be safe, but taking away her only freedom until further notice? That's just too much. (turns the water off and puts the dishes away when she hears a knock at the door)

(Scene cuts to Rachel's room. She's seen sitting up in bed reading another book when she hears a knock)

Rachel: (uninterested) Come in.

(Aunt Bree opens the door and pokes her head into the room)

Aunt Bree: Hey, honey. How are you doing? (waits as Rachel says nothing. She sighs) Look, sweetie. I know you're still mad at your Papa for what he did and I don't blame you, but you're gonna have to lighten up at some point. (approaches Rachel) You can't stay like this forever.
