Chapter 18

Alaric had been teaching at Mystic Falls High for about a week now and Josie was hating every minute of it. Every time she turned the corner when she was walking down the hall there he was.

He always insisted on talking to her which she hated. The brunette wished he would respect her decision of not wanting him around her but she could tell that it was going to be hard to get him to understand that.

"Good Morning," Hope said as soon as Josie walked into their health class.

"Good morning" the brunette mumbled before sitting down.

The shorter girl handed Josie a coffee which seemed to brighten her mood a little.

"Good morning class," the teacher said walking in and setting down her bag and coffee.

"Good morning," the class said in unison.

"Okay let's just get right into this, we've been learning about the reproductive system for most of this quarter, now it's time for your big assignment that will be 75 percent of your quarter grade."

Josie looked at Hope with a raised eyebrow, the shorter girl just shrugged in response.

"Your assignment will be pairing up with someone and taking care of a robot baby for 3 days!" the teacher clapped before opening the storage closet and grabbing the robot, showing it to the students.

"This whole period I'm going to teach you how to take care of it then when it's the last 10 minutes of class I want you to come up with your partners and I will give you a baby."

"Jo, we should do the project together" Jed turned around in his seat and looked at Josie.

The brunette looked at Hope who had her fists clenched. Josie quickly put her hand on top of the Hopes that was resting on the girl's lap.

"Actually Hope and I are already partnered up, sorry Jed," the brunette said. Josie felt the shorter girl unclench her fist and interlock their hands.

"What? I didn't even hear her ask you" Jed said.

"Well she did," the brunette said.

Jed just sighed and faced forward with a frown on his face. Hope mentally cheered at this.

When the teacher had explained everything to the class each student went up to collect their baby along with the necessary accessories, and car seat that came with them.

Hope and Josie ended up getting one of the boy robot babies "wow he already looks like us."

The brunette rolled her eyes playfully and put the birth certificate on the counter "okay it says we need to come up with a name and we need to sign our names."

"We're only gonna have the thing for a couple of days just name it Noah or something," Hope said.

Josie shrugged and wrote down the name Noah and her signature before passing it to Hope who did the same.

"Okay I'll bring it home with me and take care of it for the night, and during the day you can come over and we both will," the brunette said.

"Sounds good to me."

"I will be activating the dolls at 4! so be prepared, and make sure to write down every time they cry and what the baby needed! again it will be a grade."
