Chapter 46

When Hope and Josie arrived at the brunette's parents' house the girl just walked in followed by her fiancé who was carrying the twins.

"You can put the babies down, they usually just go to their toys," the girl said and Hope shook her head.

"I'm good, I'll hold them... you know just in case your sister tries to attack me."

"She won't attack you."

Suddenly Lizzie walked out of the kitchen and when her eyes landed on Hope they narrowed, the blonde had a knife in her hand which didn't help.

"Hope Mikaelson, you have some nerve showing up here," she said holding up the knife.

Josie stood in front of them "Woah Woah, babies in the room" she said and Lizzie looked at her godchildren and put the knife away.

"Put the babies down Hope," she said, her eyes still narrowed.

"I'm good... they want me to hold them," she said only for Lucas to try and wiggle out of her grasp so he could get a toy that was on the couch.

Hope sighed and put the boy down who immediately walked over to his today. The auburnette looked over at her daughter "you'll protect me right?"

Andrea put her arms around her mom's head and hugged the woman's

"I... we!" Josie said gesturing to Hope and herself "came to explain the situation to you, it's not how it sounded... I just didn't see things correctly."

"You said she was kissing another woman and that she cheated on you."

"And apparently she didn't, Alyssa just kissed her and I walked in at the wrong moment and assumed she was cheating..."

"So you didn't cheat?"

"Nope, I did not" Hope said.

"And you would never cheat?"

"Well..." Hope said and earned a glare from her fiancé "I'm kidding, no I wouldn't ever cheat on my fiancé I love you too much."

"Okay good... wait- did I just hear fiancé???" Lizzie looked between the two them down to her sister's hand where she saw a giant diamond ring on her sister's finger.

"Oh my god! that must have cost a fortune" she picked up her sister's hand and examined the ring.

"Only 21,250 dollars but who's counting" Hope smiled. And Josie's eyes widened as she looked over at her.

"21,250?? why would you get a ring so expensive??"

"Did you forget who you are marrying? I'm a Mikaelson, don't worry about the costs" Hope smiled and kissed her.

Andrea pushed Josie away from Hope and laid her head on the auburnettes chest.

"Oh wow, I can't kiss my fiancé?" Josie smiled at her daughter who just pouted in response.

"Well, we should probably-" Hope said but was interrupted by the front door opening. Stefan and Caroline looked at them standing there.

"Josie? what are you guys doing here," her mother said as Lucas ran up to her. The blonde picked up her grandson and kissed his head.

The brunette held up her hand showing the ring "surprise?"

"It's about damn time," Stefan said and Caroline slapped his shoulder.

"There are two impressionable ears in the room!" she hissed at her husband. Caroline turned back to her daughter and hugged her.

"Congratulations baby," she said before turning to Hope and hugging the girl "treat her well okay?"

"I will" Hope smiled and pulled away.

When the newly engaged couple got home they put their children in their cribs before walking over to the couch and plopping down.

"Well, that went way better than expected" Hope chuckled and looked over at her fiancé.

"Yeah, now we just have to tell your family" Josie looked over at her.

"That should be fun, Aunt Rebekah is going to be ecstatic, she's probably going to throw us a fancy party" she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, that sounds like her" Josie laughed.

The shorter girl scooted closer to her fiancé and went on her side, wrapping her arms around the girl "I can't wait to marry you."

Josie smiled and turned on her side "I can't wait to marry you too" she grinned before leaning in and kissing the girl.

"How much time do you think we have before the twins wake up from their nap?" Hope whispered against her mouth.

"Mm I'd say an hour or two," she said still smiling.

"I can make that work," she said pulling the girl ontop of her and making her giggle.
