Chapter 12

"Are you available today?" Jed said as soon as Josie walked out of her classroom.

"I'm not, unfortunately, I have a doctor's appointment today for the baby," the brunette said walking towards her locker to exchange her English books for her history.

"Oh, do you need someone to go with you?" Jed asked.

"Hope's going to this one but thanks for offering" she smiled at him.

"Yeah of course" he held out his hands signaling for Josie to hand him her books so she didn't have to carry anything heavy.

"Thanks..." she handed him the books "but I'm not at that stage yet where I need my books carried, wait a few months" she giggled.

As Jed was about to say something Hope rudely cut in front of him and smiled at Josie "can I walk you to class?"

The brunette looked from Jed to Hope "yeah sure..."

The auburnette turned around and took the books from the boy "I'll take those thanks buddy" she patted his shoulder.

Hope tucked the books under her arm before putting her arm on Josie's waist and walking down the hall "so when's the appointment and what are we going to see there?"

"Well, it's directly after school at two forty and-" as the brunette was explaining everything Hope turned back to Jed and winked before looking back at Josie and nodding softly.

Hope and Josie were sitting in the waiting room while the brunette filled out all her health information on the piece of paper the receptionist handed her.

"What's this" Hope said picking up a plastic tray that had a bunch of holes on it.

Josie glanced over before turning back to the paper "that shows the dilation of the cervix."

"Oh."

"Josette Forbes-Salvatore?" the nurse called out and Josie stood up and grabbed her bag, Hope following right after.

The brunette was brought to a similar exam room to the first one she was in.

"So who's your doctor again?"

"My Aunt Elena."

"I heard my name" they both heard a voice and turned to the door seeing Josie's Aunt walking in with a clipboard.

"Hi," the brunette smiled.

"Hey honey it's good to see you," the woman said before hugging the pregnant teen.

"What are your credentials?" Hope said eyeing the woman.

"Ignore her" Josie cut in before Elena could say anything "this is Hope she's the mother."

"Ah, lovely to meet you..."

"Yeah, you too..." the auburnette crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at the woman who was doing the same.

"How about we check on the baby? yeah, sound like a good plan?" Josie looked between the two.

"Yes! of course, let's do a small check-up on your first Josie then we'll look at baby," Elena said taking out her stethoscope and putting it on the girl's back.
