Now that the second task was over, everyone's attention shifted to the Yule Ball. Although many people had gone home for the holidays, lots of students had remained for the Yule Ball.
Not to mention, the weather had now begun to get as chilly as ever adding a cozy atmosphere to the grounds. Snow had even started to pile up nearing the time of the ball.
One week before the Yule Ball people's dress robes had started coming in, and this morning Ginny, Ron, and Emelie's dresses had come in. Emelie opened her packet that Snurfle, her family wol, had given her.
There was a letter that Emelie decided she would open first. It read:
Emelie, This dress is for you, our dear princess. Me and your father chose this together so you could have the best of nights at the Yule Ball. We've included a pair of shoes as well for you. We hope you and your date have loads of fun. Au revoir from Maman and Papa.
Emelie's eyes teared up with joy. Even if her parents were fighting they'd still managed to do something for her. This truly was the thing that made her happiest. All of a sudden, Ron let out a small shriek.
"What?! How could mum send me this? The worst of dress robes!". Ron held up brownish and red robes with a white patch of felt in the front.
There was also a bowtie at the top of the robes, securing everything together. They reminded Emelie of curtains.
"Ginny, why don't you wear it?". Ginny looked up from her plate.
"I'm not wearing that, it's ghastly". Emelie, Hermione, and Harry burst into laughter.
"Oh please, this isn't funny" Ron protested, but they kept laughing.
Emelie didn't want to take a look at her dress until it was time for the ball so she closed the package, deciding to take it to her dorm room.
Meanwhile, Hermione looked admiringly at her dress. Emelie could see it was a ting of pink but she didn't peek too much, she wanted to wait.
"Harry, Ron, you two still don't have a date", someone chorused from behind them. They all turned around to see Parvati Patil looking at them.
"Yes and what about that?" Ron said nervously. Emelie had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing in this situation.
"Well, we don't either, me and Parvati. So, if you're in, we could go to the ball together. Me and you, Ron and Parvati and Harry". Ron and Harry looked at each other. Parvati had joined them too.
"Uh.... s-sure". Harry said.
"Great , we'll see you then, dates". The Patil twins walked off leaving everyone in absolute shock.
"Now that you two got dates, we ought to head off to dance lessons" Emelie told everyone. They all buffed but then laughed, except for Ron and Harry.
