CHAPTER FORTY NINE - EVERMORE

"Ladies and gentlemen, Philippine Pacific Airlines welcomes you to Manila. The local time is 3 PM in the afternoon."

I looked at the plane window and I smiled.

Gosh, I can't believe we're finally back here again.

"Hey, Eliryce, just stay here. I'll go get our bags in the overhead cabins."

I looked at Cross who was seated beside me and I smiled at him.

"Oh, okay. Thanks!"

I took out my phone from my pocket and I instantly smiled as soon as I saw her picture on my lockscreen wallpaper. Mas lalo pa itong gumanda, she's glowing and glowing even more.

Dang, it's been three months already. Time really flies so fast. Now, I just wanted to leap out of here and meet that woman immediately. I really missed her, even though we're always talking on the phone and doing FaceTime whenever we're both not busy. The long distance relationship set up was really hard, but I'm glad that we still managed to make it.

And now, I'm finally back after three months, and I just can't wait to meet her once again.

"On behalf of Philippine Pacific Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip, and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice day ahead!" pagpapatuloy na announce ng isang flight crew.

I tried to dial her number once again pero panay ring lang yun, kanina pa ito actually hindi sumasagot sa tawag ko. Naisip kong baka busy lang ito sa work. She's now working as an executive in Kuya Theo's company and in just three months, sobrang dami na nitong napatunayan. I saw her faces in various interviews, magazines, newspapers, at marami pang iba na nagpapakita how she exceptionally excelled on her work and how good her skills are. Hindi na ito nagpatuloy sa pagiging professor dahil sabi nito, hindi niya raw kayang i-tolerate yung 'stupidity' at behavior ng mga nagiging sudents niya and it made me laughed when we talked about it.

Talking with her on messages or even FaceTime made me feel at ease. There hasn't been a single day in the last three months na hindi kami nag-uusap nito except nalang kung parehas talaga kaming busy, which is extremely rare because she always finds time to talk to me kahit pa minsan madaling araw na dito sa Pilipinas at minsan hapon palang sa US kaya madalas pinag-aawayan namin yun.

We faced a lot of misunderstandings, but we always fixed them somehow, and it made me love her even more kahit pa madalas sinusungitan ako nito because of her unremarkable temper.

"Still couldn't contact her yet?" Cross asked me the moment we arrived at the arrival area of the airport.

"I think she's busy. She's not picking up."

"Yeah, I bet. She's doing really well---"

"Why are you pushing us away? Are you crazy?!"

Cross and I stopped talking when we noticed that there were people making trouble in the arrival waiting area. Napatingin kami agad dun at napansin ko naman agad yung kumpulan ng mga babae na parang may kinu-corner yung mga ito.
