Nighttime Cuddles

The night had just begun, and the museum came to life. Tonight was one of the days that the museum decided to take a rest. A night to sleep. Teddy headed off towards Sacajawea, Attila and Ahkmenrah heading to meet each other, just to make sure they both had someone in case they had nightmares. The miniature dioramas were separated into small groups of people to sleep in the roman houses, and western tents.

Jedediah was making his way over to his boyfriend's house. They normally sleep in Octavius' house, but occasionally they would sleep in Jedediah's tent. When he makes it over to the roman diorama, a few of its members give him a wave. He waves back and enters Octavius' home. He walks into Octavius' bedroom, and sees the roman arranging something with blankets and pillows.

"What are you doing there, Octy?" Jedediah asks, confused.

"Oh there you are Jed! I'm making a blanket fort for us to cuddle in!" Octavius replies happily.

"Like Nicky was talking about the other night?"

Octavius nods his head. He finishes putting everything in place, and lays down, waving the other towards him. Octavius was in his tunic, talking off his armor when he reached his house. Jedediah takes off his boots, gloves, hat, vest and chaps, and then lays down next to the roman. Octavius wraps his arms around Jedediah, and holds him tightly. The two slowly fall asleep.

When Octavius wakes up, Jedediah is still sleeping. He looks like an angel, with his hair flowing around his face and perfect skin. Octavius just looks at his boyfriend, not ever wanting to look away. He had never felt more content than he was now, holding the other. He gives Jedediah a kiss on the forehead, and falls asleep once more.

A little while later, Jedediah wakes up. He turns over in Octavius' arms and smiles. The roman looks so much more at peace, his face not filled with worry like it normally is. Jedediah wishes sometimes that he could take all of the others' stress away, but he knows he can't. He just has to help with Octavius' stress as best he can. Jedediah closes his eyes and falls asleep again.

The next time the miniatures wake up, it is the next night. It was a good thing that the museum wasn't open that day, so Dr. McPhee didn't yell at Larry for them being missing. The two of them get up and start to get ready for the day. Octavius puts on his armor and helmet, and Jedediah puts on his chaps, boots, gloves, vest, and hat. The two of them take each other's hand and walk out of Octavius' house. They walk through Rome, making small talk with some of its members. When they reach the end of the diorama, they shimmy down the rope and reach the floor. They get into their car and head to the Egypt exhibit, as they had arranged some time to be with Ahkmenrah and Attila, to plan the next party for the museum.
