"How long are you going to be in there?" Jennifer shouted from outside the bathroom. Harry couldn't hear her for the noise of the water falling on his tired body. He'd been up most of the night trying to finish of the wedding dress that had to be ready for the fitting this afternoon. The bride had changed her mind last minute and asked for the beads (harry had suggested weeks ago) to be added to the neck line of the beautiful white satin dress. It had to be right and he wanted it as always to be perfect. He loved the day of the final fitting, the smiles of joy from the bride to be and their friend at the reveal. He loved romance everything about it. Maybe this made up for the growing feeling of loss he found in his own relationship.
Bang Bang on the door. He jumped and sighed, here we go
"I said how long?" Jennifer shouted again. "Im done, one sec," he muttered whilst turning off the shower and placing a towel around his waist. She's hot and cold since her promotion at work. She's been working for calder PR Agency for three years now. She started in her role as assistant to the public affairs manager, she's excelled in her position and formed great relationships across the company.
I remember her coming home from her interview so excited, it was her dream job and already had big plans to work her way up the ladder. "Harry this is amazing we are finally getting there, soon you will be running your own bridle franchise and i will be boss of my own PR company, lets celebrate" she said. We had the most amazing night drinking champaign and dancing the night away, not a care in the world.
unfortunately things didn't entirely go to plan. After being made redundant i decided to carry on with my passion, creating the most wonderful bridal gowns and although i am successful it was hardly the franchise we once dreamed off.
He opened the door, steam escaping into the bedroom. "I need to leave soon," she said shaking her head. "Maybe if you spent more time sleeping instead of faffing around on that sewing machine all night." She entered the bathroom closing the door behind her.
Harry slumped on the bed combing his fingers through his long curly hair, this was becoming a common occurrence. She was so full of love, proud of harry once.. This just seems to be slipping away and he doesn't know how to put this right, but as always he will try. He loves her for better or worse.
It was 2pm and Harry was home alone, this wasn't unusual these days. Jen was always so busy with work. He would make an effort this evening and cook. He loved to cook and when it was for something special he would love to search the internet for amazing dishes to try. This was a special meal, he wanted to reignite the spark back into their relationship. He was pulled from his thoughts by the door bell rang. He quickly opened the workroom before going to greet his customer, opening the door to a very excited bride to be and her mother whom was as excited if not more. Both giggling as they entered the work room.
Harry had spent a lot of time making the room perfect for his customers, long velvet curtains framed the window and Chandelier hung from the ceiling. He had fairy lights around the walls and vases full of beautiful red roses. A grey velvet sofa with cushions scattered and candles that filled the room with vanilla, it really was beautiful.
"Come in, come in" he said with a big beautiful smile which made his dimple pop. "Im so excited, are you both ready for the big day?" "We are" Susan said "the dress is the final piece and then we are ready." Susan slipped on the dress from behind the curtain, a nervous sigh and a giggle could be heard before opening the curtain. She then walking out to meet her mother and myself. "You look like a princess,"her mother said with a tear. Harry was beyond happy, this was the reward, this was the reason for the sleepless nights, it was so worth it. A beautiful princess he said.
Susan and her mother skipped out of the house, dress in hand. Harry let out a sigh and rubbed his face, right now to work my magic in the kitchen.
it was 7.30pm when his phone vibrated to notify him of a text message..Niall - Hazza, what you up to tomorrow? My friend Nick is opening a restaurant and i need a plus one.
He'd not spent time with Niall for a
couple of weeks. Niall has been Harry's best friend since primary school. They'd been through so much together and he loved him dearly.Harry- I'd love to, been to long Nialler. Send me the details and ill see you there.
He carried on setting the table, candles lit and a bottle of red placed. He adored Jennifer and was looking forward to spending the evening with her.
Harry was just buttoning his shirt when he heard the front door to the house open. "Harry im home," Jennifer walked into the dinning room and looked at the table all set, she felt slightly guilty for being off with Harry that morning. She loved Harry but her job had become so demanding lately. She had so many clients now which meant she had to network too, taking her away from home at times. She just hated the fact that Harry was home all the time and sometimes forgot how busy with work he actually was.
"Im sorry," she said almost so quietly that it could have been missed. Harry walked up behind her placing his arms around her waist. "Its ok Jen, lets eat."
