Chapter 6 🌻

"Louis are you ready?"  Zayn shouted from the kitchen, him and Liam had made breakfast of pancakes and bacon.
"I'm here" Louis replied as he grabbed the orange juice from the fridge and sat down to join the other two.

"So what was the issue with Luke?" Louis asked. Zayn had been on the phone with him last night discussing his up and coming birthday, Luke had asked that they come over and stay the weekend to celebrate with him.
"We were just trying to arrange his birthday" Zayn replied. "Oh! then we was talking about Harry, he's recently separated from his partner." "He's the sweetest guy" Liam joined in the conversation grabbing his second pancake and and some fruit hat was put on the table. "Its such a shame, I hope he's ok."
"So Harry's the guy you met when you went to your mums? louis asked.
"Yes, he was out with Luke and his boss Nick who owns the restaurant. Niall, Harrys other friend was there too. I think they both know Nick and then the four of them went out after the open evening" Zayn explained. "You'll meet the three of them when we go up for Luke's birthday."
"You've definitely managed to get this weekend off haven't you?" Liam asked. "Yes, I've told them that no matter how short staffed they are I can't come in that weekend" Louis replied.

Louis wasnt happy at the department store, they constantly changed his hours and expected him to do overtime at the drop of a hat. He needed to find a new job but it was hard to find somewhere.

"Perfect, I'll speak to Harry later, see how he's doing" Zayn said with concern for his new friend.

They finished breakfast before they all headed to work. Louis walked as it was only a five minute walk, the one positive about working at the store.

"Hey you!" Louis looked round to see a gentleman stood behind him. "Yes sir how can i assist you?" Louis asked politely, though was annoyed how abrupt and just rude the gentleman was.
"I'm looking for something for my mother, I need you to help me.
The man looked stressed and Louis thought maybe he's just having an off day, so with a big smile he walked over to assist.
He walked the gentleman over to the cosmetic department within the store after a short discussion on what items he was thinking of buying his mum, stating that the lady behind the counter would be able to advise beauty products.
As he turned to leave and head back to the menswear department he heard someone shout his name. As he looked up Sandra his supervisor was stood there with a unimpressed look on her face. "Where have you been hiding?" She shouted as he walked over to her.
"We have stock that needs putting out and your strolling around the store like we have nothing to do."
He was just about to explain that he was helping a customer when she turned and walked back to the department. Louis followed muttering how he can't wait to get out of this place. Luckily Sandra didnt hear him and continued to tell Louis which items needed to be put out and where.

It had been a long day and it was finally 6pm and ready to go. He couldnt get out of there quickly enough. Tonight he decided that he was going to look for another job and hopefully get out of this one as soon as he could.

When he got home he was met by Zayn and Liam cuddled up on the sofa watching some film that he had no idea what it was. They both greeted him and told him that there was pasta made and to help himself. Liam was great in the kitchen and always had food ready when Louis got back. He had some great friends, they both looked after him like he was a younger brother and he loved them dearly.

"That was great Liam" he said whilst placing the dish in the dishwasher. "Right im gonna go to my room and packing for the weekend. Its been so long since I've seen Luke and i really do need a good night out."

Louis had been single now for six months, he was with his ex Josh for eighteen months but he found out that he was cheating with one of his work colleagues for at least six of them. Louis was left hearbroken and vowed he was done with relationships. He just didnt know if he could trust again.

After packing his case ready for his trip to Cheshire, he went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea before heading to bed. Liam and Zayn had already gone to their bedroom so he put the radio on when he returned. He had learned that having the radio on would stop any embarrassment as the walls were quit thin.
He thought about the up and coming weekend, he was excited to see Luke, they had always been so close.
He then started to search through job sites on his phone but there was very little available, with a sigh he decided to snuggle up and read until he eventually fell asleep.
