-Kyaaaaaaaahhhh!

Yashiro screamed with all her might.

-the doll moved!! it moved!! she kept on shouting those words as she was running as fast as she could, besides her own steps, she could hear that there was someone chasing her.

when she glanced, the doll was running towards her, the movements were unnatural making it look scarier than it already was.

when she thought it couldn't be worse, the doll's face cracked, and a dark liquid started to flow from its mouth.

-waaah! scary!! so scary! she ran even faster at the sight.

while she was running, she kept glancing over to check if the doll was still chasing after her, after some time, the doll slowed down gradually as if it ran out of batteries.

A sigh of relief escaped her lips, the persecution stopped, or so she thought.

*crack* *crack*

The cracking sound filled the room.

one doll after the other, they all started to move toward Nene.

—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

outside the chaotic room, Tsukasa waited for a long time, he kept humming some kind of song. Because he was tired of waiting, he called kokujoidai and played with it as if it was a ball.

-it's about time. he said as he stopped throwing kokujoidai into the air. he then approached the room and peeked at the inside.

Everything was a mess, there were arms and legs which belonged to the dolls scattered all around the room, heads here and there. it was quite the view but he was unbothered.

He walked and looked around, searching for someone, then he found a certain green light and rushed to its place.

It was emerald destiny, and the one at the side, sitting while hugging her legs was, of course, Nene. Aside from some scratches, she looked fine.

-you did better than I expected. Good job.

After hearing the familiar voice, Nene lifted her head slowly until she could see his face, the familiar golden color of his eyes and a playfull grin. The tension released in an instant, then her eyes began to tear up.

-...nhg. she sniffled.

He stared, eyes wide opened as if he was surprised.

–...why are you crying?

-wahh. hic. she sobbed even more.

To be honest, he didn't think she would end up crying like this.

He didn't know what to do, the only thing that came to mind was to pat her head. After a few strokes, she calmed down.

-sniff...

-Better?

she shook her head and then hugged his neck.

They were just dolls without consciousness, they weren't even that scary.

Seeing as she had no problem taking care of them, it wasn't that she was physically weak, she had her own boundary so she couldn't be "weak", so why is she overreacting now?

Was it because he left her alone?

'How troblesome'

What's the point of being strong if she's gonna cry everytime she encounters an opponent?

Nene continued to cling to him, like a koala. He was uncomfortable, but he didn't want to let go of her, at least for now.

'well, it's not that bad I guess.'

He patted her back carefully.

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsukasa who was poking her shoulder, asked.

-Heeey. Hey? how long are you going to ignore me?

Nene still didn't say anything, even when he started shaking her shoulders to make her turn around.

-Are you so angry?

He frowned.

-I'm more than angry. She said with a calm, almost cold, voice.

-I'm sorry. he made a pitiful face, showing he was apologizing sincerely, but there was no way it would be sincere, he didn't even comprehend why she was making all this fuss.

-Are you really? she got up. -I was really scared!  it was just like last time!

-Well...That time the gate led to an unpleasant place so... 'Why should I stay?' he didn't voice out that thought.

-What about the other time then? you disappeared when we were hanging out! my so-awaited picnic, I had to eat all the snacks on my own.

'you didn't have to eat them all though.'

-...There was this mokke with a really interesting shape and fur color, so I...followed it.

she was so mad her face turned red.

-You always leave me behind! I thought you left me for good this time!

-N-no, why would I leave you now?

He said it as if he was really going to leave some day, just not right now.

She hates being alone. It's so cold and scary, as if she is the only thing that exists in that large place.

She did her best to be nice to him, entertaining him, playing and other things so that He could stay beside her.

They hang out and had fun but, at the end of the day, she's the one left alone.

He doesn't consider her feelings, disappears for a long time and then appears like nothing happened.

He doesn't really care about her.

That was what hurt her the most.

The anger she felt before banished and she was filled with an unknown emotion she didn't know what to call, she felt empty and at the same time she felt like crying.

At the sudden pause of her angry complaining, Tsukasa turned his gaze to her with a some what worried expressions.

She was looking down at  the ground, the look on her face was uncharacteristically calm, to the point he felt like something was wrong.

-Hey, you ok? He extended his hand to her cheek in a delicate movement, at the instant his hand was about to touch her cheek, she raised her hand and pushed his.

He was bewildered by that.

-I... I'm leaving. The voice that came out was weak.

And as she said, she left, not even wanting to meet eyes with Tsukasa who was looking at her with his eyes wide open.

The only traces left were some small puddles she left.

He looked at it motionless.

He didn't understand why she left. Just a moment ago her face was red for being angry and was complaining to him.

The look she had on her face when she left came to mind.

-...

Somehow, a part of his chest felt numb.
