When she came to, she was back to the place she's always been.

Her boundary.

A beautiful and calm place. Maybe too calm for her to like it.

She didn't like the fact that it was so spacious and quiet. It was terrible silent, but that was just what she needed now.

She had just snapped at Tsukasa, and as if that wasn't bad already, she left as if she was running away.

But what else was she supposed to do?

She felt wrongged.

Disappointed.

Hurt.

That's right, she was hurt.

The person that had always looked out for her, the one she so desperately cling to, her only friend, he was abandoning her, not only that, he put her in harm's way intentionally.

Just to test her.

Would you do that to a friend?

She could never do that to him.

Then,

did he even think of her as a friend?

If not, what did she mean to him?

Suddenly, she recalled someone.

It was a human she met long ago.

It was a peculiar one.

He was curled up on a corner of the boundary, his back leaned on the Torii as he was resting his head on his knees, the subtle sound of the water flowing mixed with low whispers close to swears.

Was he complaining? He must be upset.

Despite that realization, she thought he looked pitiful with his head resting on his knees as if he was the only one he could rely on.

It was kind of... Sad.

Yes, he looked lonely.

So she approached him.

He himself wasn't considered a kid anymore, but he wasn't an adult either he was just around that age, not a kid but certainly not an adult.

It was annoying, he had been so busy preparing for a really important test to the point he had to use glasses from all the the study but somehow, they were unsure of what to do as he was still under age, in the end, they told him to come back when he was legally an adult.

Who was the one to write that rule? It was absurd. I can't apply because I'm under age? That's bullshit!

" - Look kid, your answers were very impressive, unfortunately, we cannot let you enter the program, you're still underage as such, permission from your guardians is required.

- If that's the case, then I-

The man interrupted.

- In case you were chosen you'll have to leave your family for months or even years. Are you confident your parents would allow it?

He clenched his fists.

' They wouldn't. '

The man glared at him momentarily and soon relaxed his expression, curling up his lips in a satisfied smile.

- It's good you want to aim high, though, it'll be better if you think it over and come back when you are an adult and won't regret your decision, got it?
