Ural and Mahogany were busy, apparently, and that was why the discussion class was filled with three dragons only- Avi, Virgo and Oribi. Their teacher was Sunny, who Avi hated, so the class started on another awkward note.
"So, today we're going to talk," Sunny whispered.
"Speak up," Avi snarled.
"Um," was what Oribi said.
Virgo ducked her head and looked away.
Then she heard something again. Quills against a scroll, hurried scratching and muffled talonsteps. Then the sounds were gone.
"Oribi, did you hear anything?" She asked.
Oribi nodded. "Avi being angry at Sunny, someone writing something, and said someone walking away. Why?"
"Nothing," Virgo replied.
"AND I THOUGHT YOU WANTED PEACE IN PYRRHIA-" Avocado hollered, then she calmed down, a mask settling on her face.
Sunny sighed. "Avocado-"
"Don't call me that! SandWing royalty, act like one!"
"RainWing and NightWing royalty, act like one!"
Avi huffed.
"Look here, Avocado. If you don't like Jade Mountain, feel free to leave." Sunny opened her mouth to say something else, but Avi glared at her.
"You think Queen Glory would allow that? No, she wouldn't!"
"They've got bad blood," Oribi commented snarkily. "And I'm wasting my time."
Suddenly, a NightWing dragonet marched in. "Princess Sunny! I'm Fierceteeth and Strongwing's daughter, Python, and I am here to tell you something urgent. Don't think it benefits you, though."
"Go ahead," Sunny urged.
Avi rolled her eyes, and looked at Python. Python looked back with an unreadable look that Virgo decided not to study.
"My mother told me to tell you that she's going to challenge Lower Queen Greatness to a duel, and wants Glory to let go of the NightWings if she becomes Lower Queen."
"Has she told Glory?"
"Yes. And there's been a rumor about an assassin. Called Quickburn."
"And what does this have to do with the NightWing throne?"
"Well, I wouldn't know. Mother told me to tell you, you loser. You pathetic excuse of a SandWing. You SandWing spitball."
Oribi sucked a loud breath. "Quickburn? Has anyone seen her?"
He sounded concerned! Like, for real this time. No sarcasm.
"No, no one has. No one's sure if that's her real name, no one's sure if she even exists." Python breathed.
"Quickburn is Greatness' brother's daughter. And my half sister. A blue moon dragonet." Oribi whispered.
Avi's mouth dropped open. Virgo pushed her jaw back in but her eyes were wide.
Sunny and Python stared at him.
Then Python snarled, "Make sure Quickburn doesn't want the throne. We don't want too many casualties."
"She wants the SandWing throne, not the NightWing throne."
"Good." Python hissed. She turned around and stormed out with a superior air.
"Wait. So you're saying it's good for my mother, Thorn, to get in a challenge with Quickburn? Please. The Eye of Onyx won't choose Quickburn. And she wouldn't win anyway." Sunny hissed.
