EMMA'S POV
All 9 guys and I arrive at the carnival that came into town starting today. All day we spent at the beach, trying to waste away the day light. As it grew darker, that's when we headed off to this carnival. It was all my idea really. When I moved here from Florida last year, I was came to the surprise that California only had one carnival one time a year and it sucked because that's what I looked forward to the most in the summer. FL had at least 10 carnivals going on at the same time around the area that I lived in.
"What first?" Matt chuckles at the excitement of all the beautiful lit up lights surrounding us.
We were all pretty excited because of it. I think me the most though. It reminded me so much of home.
"I was thinking we could all just spread out and just go wherever and all meet back at the end of the night at the car." I suggest to them.
"Sounds like a plan." Cameron looks at me and smiles and I couldn't help but smile back.
He was acting different today. Like more strange around me than usual. It kind of bothered me but I was going to attempt to ignore it as much as possible.
Before I know it, all guys go off in their little groups and spread out through the beautiful land of lights, so to speak. The only guys who remained by my side were Cameron, Jack G, JJ, and Nash.
"Let's go find a game to play." Nash suggests and we all follow him.
As we walk, I try to stay closer to Jack for some reason but no matter how close I got, Cameron would come just as close.
We arrive at the game stand. It was like a quarter game where there were numbers in each little square space on a long table that surrounded the whole middle of the stand. In the center of the stand, the people who ran the game would stand. One person would hold the microphone to announce the number the wheel lands on when he spins it. If your quarter is placed on that one space, you win an envelope that contains any amount of money ranging from $1-$150.
"They had this game back in my home state!" I jump up and down like a little girl.
I watch Jack roll his eyes and laugh, then hand me a quarter that I automatically put on my favorite number. 13.
Cam, Jack, JJ, and Nash spread around the stand and make their bet. Then the man spins the wheel and calls out the number 21 which made Johnson win. We all laugh at his hysterical excitement and watch him open the envelope he won. He ended up winning $10 and he seemed to be on the top of the world after that which was pretty funny.
"You losers keep trying your luck! I'll be spending this on a lady I can possibly bring home tonight!" Jack J smirks and laughs as he walks away proudly.
Cam walks around the table and motions for me to hold out my hand. When I do, he places a hand full of quarters in my hand and laughs.
"You better win my money back Em!" He jokes and I roll my eyes and place another quarter on a number.
"Don't worry, I will!" I laugh and if on cue, the spinner stops and the announcer announces the winning number of the round.
"13!"
"HA! I won!" I laugh and pick an envelope.
As I take it away from the table to get out of the way for more carnival guests to play, Jack and Cam hover over me while Nash keeps playing. I open the envelope and reveal a hundred dollar bill!
"Woah! Thanks for winning that for me bae!" Cameron jokes and I whip away from him.
"No, no pretty boy! I won this!"
