“Assumption Trapped: Chapter 7”
"The Captain"
Heaving a deep sigh, Reign enter the room infront of him. The door was half open. The tanod who brought him here was already inside and now looking at him as if he did something really offensive.
The first thing he saw was a office look like table. There was a person behind it, playing his ballpin on his fingers.
Riegn's stare fell onto the name written on a furnished wood just infront of the person's table.
Cap. Sandro Vasquez
After reading the name, Reign immediately realized it. The person behind that table is the barangay captain and seems like, his not in his mood at the moment.
Mr. Sandro lifted his head and stare straight into Reign's eyes.
"Please sit down!" The Captain said as he motioned his hand towards the visitors chair infront.
Reign obliged. He boringly sat down and look at the Captain sideways.
"So..." The captain suspensely talk. "At this time, why are you still outside?" He continued.
"Aren't you aware about the rules and regulations here? There's a curfew and you just disobeyed it!"
"I just moved here this morning." Reign nonchalantly answered.
"So are you saying that we should put you into consideration? It's as if your saying that you don't know the word curfew. Don't you have curfew on your previous place?" The captain said emphasizing the last few words in his sentence.
"There is!" Reign said. He lifted his head and meet the captain's glare. "It wasn't just a simple tanod who go around, it was a police! Lots of policemen on duty!"
"You're saying a lot Cap, just go straight to the point!" Reign boringly said.
Just spill the beans, slowpoke!
He feel so sleepy now. Reign simply look at his wristwatch.
2:25 a.m
Damn!
If only he can go now, he would. It's nearly dawn for God sake. If I know that this will happen I would rather stay on my apartment. Reign thought.
"I'm giving you warning Mr. I'll make you slide this time because I'm putting you into consideration, but if this happen again, I won't be nice anymore." The captain answered looking at him straight in the eyes.
Reign heaved a sigh.
"Am I free to go now kap?" Said Reign, nonchalantly.
"Yeah, you can go. I don't want to see your face—"
"Adios!" Reign cut him off and wave his right hand as he turn his back.
He open the door and went out without looking to anybody inside that office.
Reign didn't waste any minute and went out to this hall as fast as he can. He went straight to his apartment.
Since it's not that far, he immediately reached his apartment in no time. He log again on the desk before going. After that he went to his room and lock the door.
As he lied to his bed a lot of thoughts keep on running as if there's a goddamn flashdrive on his head.
But there is one thing he can't understand, when he was on the Captain's office earlier he felt weird feeling. He didn't felt it yet. Reign is not familiar to what he felt nor what kind of emotion it is.
He felt like being trapped. He don't know really but, there is something on that Captain's eyes that he can't shrugged off.
Reign almost roll on his bed because of frustration. He get his pillow and put it on his face.
"Aishh... What the hell you're thinking Reign Alison! You don't care anyway!" Reign scold to himself.
He heave a sigh. He get the pillow on his face and put it in between his legs.
Alright, so much for this. Let's sleep. Maybe tommorow, I mean later perhaps will be nice to me once and for all.
New day. New hope. New beginning.
Let's see the brighter side of the world this time. Let's all be positive, yeah.
Let's call it a day.
