Good morning mama. Abdul greets his mom genuflecting.
Abdul, how was your night? Hajiya Halima ask him.
Alhamdullilah mama.
Mama let me go and look for firewood so that you will make breakfast. Abdul said and put on his shirt that is laying on the carpet he slept on.
Okay Abdul I will just warm this rice we should eat it for breakfast then I will prepare porridge yam for lunch and dinner. Hajiya Halima said and Abdul muttered Okay then saunter out of the room.

salisu where are you going to? Abdul ask his friend.
Am going to the bush to look for firewood for Hajiya. salisu replied.
Am also going to the same place too. Abdul add-in and they walk to the nearby bush though a bit far from their houses with a cutlass on their shoulder.

the two young men keep discussing different things until they reach the bush.
Abdul and his friend gather the firewood and tie it with a rope then carry it and place it on their shoulders then the cutlass on their hand.

Mama, I'm back. Abdul said and drop the firewood on the ground and started arranging it then he lit the matches on the firewood and he walked inside and pick the pot of Jollof rice then take it outside and place it on fire.
Abdul, you are back already.

why didn't you wait for me to come out of the bathroom and make the fire? Hajiya Halima said sitting beside Abdul on the boulders outside their room.
Mama, I have already done that so you don't have to worry. Abdul says with a smile and quickly stands up because the food is burning. Abdul drop the pot with his hand and he yelped because he burnt his hand.

Abdul, why didn't you take the rag? now you have burnt your hand. Hajiya Halimah said walking to her son.
Mama you don't have to worry I will be alright. Abdul muttered. Hajiya Halima takes the pot of Jollof rice inside and she comes out with another pot of water.
let me put it on fire for you before you finish eating so that you will bathe.

Hajiya Halimah said to her son and place the pot of water on fire then they walk inside together.
Mama, I got the laundry job so I will start working today. Abdul said with a mouthful of jollof rice.
Okay, wish you all the best. Hajiya Halima prayed.

Abdul finishes eating his food and walks to the bathroom then grabs the bucket and walks outside and turns the hot water inside. he walks inside with the bucket and enter the bathroom with mama's wrapper draped over his waist.

Abdul finishes bathing and saunters out of the bathroom then walk to the parlor where his clothes are. he clean his body up and oil his skin then put on his clothes.
Hajiya Halima walks inside after she ensures her son is done dressing.
Mama am ready. Abdul said to his mom grabbing his small Nokia phone.
My son wishes you success and may Allah protect you from the evils of the market and the influence of bad friends. Hajiya Halimah prayed and Abdul muttered Ameen.
