A New Guard

Chapter Four: A New Friend

I grab my lunch and head out to my car. I drive away and soon arrive at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Walking in the building, I check my phone to see it's a minute until my shift starts. I decide to check in Kid's Cove and see the Mangle there, still in her mangled pile. I sigh slightly and head back to my office, quickly glancing up at the Show Stage. I walk past the Parts and Service door, but freeze as I pass it. I crack open the door and peek in and see the withered animatronics, but they don't look, withered. They look quite fixed, actually. All in all, they look just torn. Foxy looks in the worst shape, as his left ear's endoskeleton is showing. I flinch a bit as the building clicks as it hits midnight and Foxy's eyes look up at me. I slowly shut the door and head to the Office to hear the phone ringing. I pick it up.

"Hello?" A voice says through the phone. I recognize the voice to be Fred.

"Fred?" I say, making sure.

"Ah, Matthew! Glad to see your back! Anyway, I'm sure you have noticed the older models sitting in the back room. They shouldn't really be active, but our daytime employees have reported sounds from the Parts and Service room at the beginning and end of the day. So, if they activate during the night, the Freddy head trick should work on them. So, just remember to keep the box wound, and I'll see you tomorrow," Fred says. I hear the click of the phone being hung up and place the company phone down and pick up the tablet and immediately switch to the Prize Corner and wind up the box. I realize I don't have the audio turned on and switch it on as I switch to the Show Stage. Toy Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie are still there. I decide to switch to Kid's Cove and see the Mangle isn't there! I hear clicking and clanking coming from somewhere in front of me. I grab the flashlight and shine it down the hall and see nothing new. I pick up the tablet and switch to Party Room Two and see Mangle there.

'There you are,' I think to myself. I switch to the Show Stage and see Toy Bonnie has left. I check Party Room Three to see Toy Bonnie there. I set the tablet down and switch the vent light on and see Mangle there.

"Hi!" She says.

"No!" I say, putting the Freddy head on. I hear her enter my office.

"Aww. Don't worry. I won't hurt you," Mangle says, taking the Freddy head off.

"Y-You won't?" I say.

"No! I couldn't help but notice your facial expression when you saw me. You looked almost, pitiful for me," Mangle says.

"Uh, yeah," I say. Mangle sets the Freddy head on the table.

"Well, you don't have to worry about me trying to stuff you into a suit," Mangle says. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that Mangle and I are going to get along.

"Thank you, Mangle," I say.

"So, quick question," Mangle says.

"Ask away," I say, winding the music box.

"So, was it really-" Mangle is cut off as there's a sound down the hall. I shine my flashlight down the hall and see Foxy!

"Foxy?" I say. Mangle looks down the Hall.

"Foxy! Let him come," Mangle says.

"Okay?" I say. I turn my flashlight off and check around the cameras to check where everybody is. I find Toy Chica and Bonnie in Party Rooms Three and Four. Toy Freddy is still up on the stage. I set the tablet down as I hear metal footsteps approaching. I look up and see Foxy standing in the Office.

"Hiya, Foxy!" Mangle says.

"Aye. Evening. We get a new night guard?" Foxy says, looking at me.

"Yeah," Mangle says.

"Well, ahoy, laddie! Glad to see ye here at Freddy Fazbear's!" Foxy says.

"Our new night guard made a bad mistake with the Toy animatronics," Mangle says.

"Aye. What'd ye do, laddie?" Foxy says.

"Toy Bonnie was in the vent, so I panicked and did what I was told, I put the head on," I say.

"Aye. That was a bad doing. But don't worry, lad, my sister and I are on yer side," Foxy says.

"Thank you. Both of you," I say. Mangle and Foxy open their jaws slightly, their lower eyelids raising slightly in what I assume to be a smile. We're soon interrupted as there's banging in the vents.
