A New Guard

Chapter Six: Surprise

I apologize for the suddenly longer chapters. But, there's a reason. As of this chapter and on, the chapters will alternate between day and night. Odd chapters are during Matthew's shift, and even chapters are during the day.

I sit down at my Study Hall table to see only Chase there.

"Hey, Matthew," Chase says.

"Hey. Where's Jackson?" I say.

"Had a test to take. So, how was your second night?" Chase says.

"I was surprised. Five Nights At Freddy's Two can just be thrown out the window," I say.

"What do you mean?" Chase says.

"The animatronics are actually trying to protect me. Well, at least Mangle, Toy Bonnie, and Foxy are," I say.

"Withered Foxy?" Chase says.

"Yes. And the withered animatronics aren't really withered, just beat up and torn. Like, Bonnie still has his face and arm, and Chica's head is still in tact. I just hope Foxy's okay," I say.

"What happened to Foxy?" Chase says.

"I learned today that, like in Five Nights At Freddy's when you run out of power, Freddy plays his Toreador March before he attacks. Foxy went to confront Freddy, but was attacked by Bonnie and Chica," I say.

"Oh. So, Toy Bonnie, Mange, and Foxy are protecting you, The other three withered animatronics are out to kill you, what about the other toy animatronics?" Chase says.

"Toy Freddy and Chica seem scared that I'm like the Purple Guy, going to rewire them to do something bad. Tonight during my shift, I'm probably going to have Foxy, Mangle, and Toy Bonnie help me convince Toy Freddy and Chica that I mean no harm," I say.

"Oh," Chase says.

"Yeah," I say.

"Well, good luck with that," Chase says.

"Thanks," I say. The rest of the day goes on with continued talk about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. As I arrive home, I see Chase's car in the driveway? I step outside my car and head inside to see some of my friends home.

"Hey!" Everyone says.

"Uh, what is going on?" I say, thoroughly confused.

"Happy birthday, Matt," Mom says. Right! Today is my birthday! 

"What! How could I forget my own birthday?" I say.

"I don't know," Jackson says.

"So, what's planned?" I say.

"We were going to head out for some bowling, then get some pizza at Freddy's," Mom says.

"We're going to Freddy Fazbear's after bowling?" I say. My eyes are widened slightly. I look at Chase and see he looks a bit shocked.

"I heard they have good pizza," James says.

"We all ready?" Mom says.

"Yeah," Everyone says.

"I guess so," I say.

"Hey, Matthew. I hope you don't mind driving someone, do you?" Mom says. I find my eyes wandering to Chase.

"No. Not at all," I say. It kind of helps my car is a two-person car.

"I guess I'm riding with you, Matt?" Chase says.

"Up to you," I say.

"Okay," Chase says. We all climb into the two vehicles and start the drive to the alleys. "So, what do you think of going to the place you work night shift during the day?" Chase says.
