Chapter Ten: Pay Day

I reach school and head inside to Study Hall.

"Hey, Matthew," Chase says as I sit down.

"Hey," I say.

"Uhm. What's with the plushie?" Jackson says. I look and see I have the Mangle plushie!

"Oh! Uh, to be honest, Mangle got me this," I say.

"Mangle got you that?" Jackson says.

"She wanted to get me something since I fixed her voice box," I say.

"Oh?" Jackson says.

"Yeah," I say.

"So, how did your shift go?" Chase says.

"It was, uhm. Different," I say, trying to find the right word.

"How so?" Chase says.

"Okay. Well, I started it differently. Instead of heading to my office, I decided to ask Mangle if she got me this plushie, which she did. Then, Toy Chica bursts into Kid's Cove, needing my help, saying Toy Freddy was hurt. I follow her to my office and see Toy Freddy in terrible condition. Torn and lying in a puddle of oil. Foxy was trying to keep Toy Freddy from basically bleeding out," I say.

"Wait, so oil is basically the Animatronic's blood?" Chase says.

"I think so. Anyway, I have Toy Bonnie get me some things to quickly fix up Freddy. Once I fixed him up, the Withered Animatronics came and almost started to beat Toy Freddy, but Withered Bonnie jumped Withered Freddy and drives them off," I say.

"So, Withered Bonnie is on your side?" Chase says.

"No. He said that this doesn't mean we're on good terms," I say.

"Okay?" Jackson says.

"Yeah," I say. The day goes on as normal. Chase meets up with me at the end of the day.

"Hey," Chase says.

"Hey," I say.

"Today will be your fifth shift, right?" Chase says.

"I don't know if I get paid today, or at the actual end of the week," I say.

"Ah," Chase says.

"I hope I do get paid today," I say.

"Only one way to find out," Chase says.

"Yup," I say. The bell rings to signal the end of the say. I reach my house and oddly decide to check the mail. I open the mailbox and see a few envelopes I'm quickly looking through and stop as I reach an envelope with a logo on it. The Freddy Fazbear logo. I head inside and open the envelope.

"What do you have there?" Mom says.

"I dunno," I say. I pull the piece of paper out and see it's a paycheck for $255.50.

"You got your paycheck?" Mom says.

"I guess so," I say, a mixture of surprise and excitement in my voice.

"Well, congrats," Mom says.

"Thanks," I say. I put the paycheck back in the envelope. Soon, there's a knock at the door. I open it and see Chase.

"Hey, Matthew," Chase says.

"What's up?" I say.

"You almost forgot this at school. You're lucky I forgot something, too," Chase says, handing me the Mangle plushie.

"Thanks, Chase," I say, taking the plushie.

"Well, see you tomorrow," Chase says.

"See ya," I say, closing the door.

"A plushie?" Mom says.

"One of the animatronics, Mangle, she got me this for fixing her voice box," I say.

"Ah," Mom says.

"Yeah. I'll be in my room if you need me," I say.

"Okay," Mom says. I head to my room and decide to get on the server. I check the coding and see it's good. I decide to mess around on the server, improving some things, and such, until I decide to lay down and rest up for my shift. I then realize that it's my fifth night there.
