Chapter Twelve: Mangled

I head home, as it's Saturday. I reach home and head inside. I head to my bed and rest up from the night. Waking up, I decide that I'm going to visit the pizzeria later today. I walk out to the living room and see Mom.

"Oh, Matthew! You're up! How was your shift?" Mom says.

"Well, it started off different," I say.

"How so?" Mom says.

"Well, for starters, I was locked out of the pizzeria. I now know not to be late. Anyway, Mangle opens the door and tells me to head to Kid's Cove, as 'he's' here. The others meet up with me at Kid's Cove, but we soon head to the office, as it wasn't safe there. I don't know what happened, but the coast was clear, and I decided to spend the rest of my shift familiarizing myself with the pizzeria. Oh, I also stopped a thief from taking some animatronic parts, and my phone," I say.

"Oh? Well, just be careful, okay?" Mom says.

"I will. I'm going to head out to Freddy's. I said I'd visit during the day again," I say.

"Okay. Be careful," Mom says.

"I will, Mom. Love you," I say. I grab a quick snack and drive out to the pizzeria. I reach the pizzeria and head inside. I head over to Kid's Cove and notice something different. There's no sound coming from Kid's Cove. I peek in and see nobody but Mangle there. I decide to slip in, carefully closing the door behind me. Mangle looks up at me as I shut the door.

"Matthew!" Mangle says.

"Hey, Mangle," I say, kneeling down by her.

"Well, if you didn't happen to stop by at the right time," Mangle says.

"What do you mean?" I say.

"Kid's Cove is temporarily closed, as I'm going to have some quick repairs. So we won't be able to talk long," Mangle says.

"Oh. What's wrong?" I say.

"Nothing. Just, some patching for my endoskeleton," Mangle says.

"Oh," I say. Just then, the door to Kid's Cove opens. I turn around and see a daytime worker.

"Oh! You're the night guard, aren't you? Uh, Matthew?" He says.

"Yup," I say.

"Hey, since you're a Freddy Fazbear worker, would you mind helping me carry Mangle to the Parts and Service?" He says. I look down at Mangle and notice she's looking up at me.

"Sure thing," I say.

"Alright. You seem stronger than me, so I hope you don't mind carrying Mangle while I carry all these parts lying around?" He says.

"No problem!" I say. The daytime worker starts picking up all of Mangle's pieces, so I kneel down by Mangle.

"Thanks," Mangle whispers. I smile lightly and lift Mangle up.

"You got her?" The daytime worker says.

"Yeah," I say, shifting my grip on Mangle.

"Alright. Come on," He says. I follow the worker out of Kid's Cove and follow him to the Parts and Service room. I look up at the show stage and see the Toys up there. They see me and give me a wink, smiling lightly. I enter the Parts and Service room with Mangle and notice there's really nowhere I can set Mangle aside from on the floor. "Oh! I almost forgot! I hope you don't mind holding Mangle until I get a table, do you?" The daytime worker says.

"No! Not at all," I say.

"Okay. Thanks. I'll be back soon," He says. The daytime worker sets Mangle's parts down and heads out. Once he leaves, Mangle looks at me.
