Somehow, we moved inside the cavern. Jack's cries for me to get up were distant as the only thing—person—my mind was trained on was Megatron. He was here. Along with a squad of vehicons. They were lined up, beleaguering separate chambers. I think they had guns. Some of them were armed with repulsor cannons. The Autobots were surrounded. All guns trained on them. All I heard were vacuums going through my brain as I scooted back. I was still half-conscious, but I knew I was kicking.
Through the haze, I could see Optimus' optics bulging.
I tried to think of what it was Megatron said that made the Prime do that. But after thinking enough to the point that I thought I was going to blackout again, I forced myself to stop thinking about what was going on and put it toward survival.
"Em—Get—Up—"
"What—you—mean—she—powers?"
"You really don't know?" Some voice boomed, loud enough to snap me out of my half-consciousness. "It's a shame, Autobots, that you remain ignorant of the true nature of your human pet."
Optimus' optics narrowed, his sensors scanning the cavern for any sign of deception. "What did Shockwave find?" he asked, his voice betraying none of the turmoil swirling within him.
Megatron's laughter filled the cavern, a sound as chilling as the icy depths of space. "Shockwave discovered something peculiar about your precious Ember when we kidnapped her," he taunted. "Something that even you, Optimus Prime, were unaware of."
Optimus' optics narrowed, his sensors scanning the cavern for any sign of deception. "What did Shockwave find?" he asked, his voice betraying none of the turmoil swirling within him.
"She has powers," Megatron declared, his tone dripping with triumph. "Powers that even she may not fully understand."
"How is that possible?" Optimus demanded, his voice laced with disbelief.
"Why don't you do me a favor? Dig a hole and bury that accusation with it," Wheeljack stepped forward, his optics blazing with defiance. "You're spouting nonsense, Buckethead," he growled. "There's no way the girl—"
But Megatron cut him off with a wave of his hand, silencing the Autobot with a dismissive gesture. "Deny it all you want, Wheeljack," he sneered. "But the truth remains. The human femme possesses powers beyond your comprehension. Beyond ours."
My heart beat faster than it ever had before. I felt unable to move, though I wanted to move so badly. So badly you what? So badly I wanted to change the entire course of history. Of now.
"Please tell me he's lying," Jack looked down at me. I was resting on his lap by an outcropping. I didn't know how I got to that, but I had to wake up somewhere.
"He's not," I looked up to meet his gaze. "He's bluffing."
As badly as I wanted to believe that this was all a sham, that was deemed next to impossible. I wasn't normal and I knew it. I may have never really known about what I could do, but I knew that I had seen my paranormal more than enough times to come to terms with it.
So why in the world would Megatron bluff? You know damn well he's telling the truth.
And for once, it actually hurts.
"So when I asked what Shockwave was doing in the lab with her," Bulkhead looked at Wheeljack, "that's why." Both wreckers seemed rived.
One step Bulkhead took, and the ranks double-wired their guns. Half the troops repositioned them to Bulkhead. The wrecker threw his servos up in mock surrender, seeming to not be affected by just how many guns were pointed at him. The rest of the bots slid their weapons back in their hands and inched closer to each other, to where they were back-to-back in a circle.
