You're the owner of an old hotel building that was built in the 1900's. There aren't many customers coming in, but you still get good wage. You've owned this hotel for a few months, but you heard some strange rumors about it.

I jumped and opened the door right in front of me. Obstacles were falling down, so i crouched under the pile of shelfs, drawers and everything that fell. A blue shining light came from the door, and decided to go straight to it. Following the blue light, i thought the black figure was gone, so i decided to look behind. It was almost behind me. In horror, i rushed to the next door, there was fire and hands surrounding the area.
Luckily i got past it, and closed the door right until he almost got in. «Seems like you won this time, we'll meet again...» a voice said.
Was that the random figure? God i'm already scared... I looked at the door number. "Door 44." «How come i'm still not out of here...i'm going crazy...is this a dream?»
I pushed my thoughts aside and walked to the next room. Pitch black, again. I sighed and opened my lighter once again. It was almost out of fuel. I opened the next door, and it was dark once again. My lighter had no fuel left, so i had to try and go to the door while it was pitch dark.
A sudden "Psst" was heard behind me again. I looked back, but i saw nothing. Something unexpectedly bit me. «Ouch! Who did that?» i yelled.
Laughter was all i heard. «Oh man! Sorry about that! I guess playtimes over...»
They appeared in front of me and apologized. «Let me lead you towards the door!» they said, as i followed them.
«You're the first...thing that has not killed me yet, what even are you?»
The dark, round figure looked at me, then opened their mouth. «You see, we don't get visits that often, so we tend to play a bit. My friends tend to tell me i have to act serious, but i just want a friend right next to me.»
They looked down. I was in front of the door, thinking about leaving the thing be. Until i decided to speak. «I'll be your friend then. I just want to know what you are, and what this place is.»
The dark, round thing looked up towards me. «I'm a entity. We are monsters and we usually kill humans. A long time ago people were here and it was easy to kill them. Now we don't get quite a lot of visits anymore. This place was used as an "Extra" place for employees. I actually don't know how i got here, i just followed the routine that my friends were doing.»
I stared in shock hearing those words. Did i hear that right? Killing? «Ah right! If you encounter door 50, there's gonna be a monster right ahead of you. Don't worry, they're blind but they have a good sense of hearing. I recommend crouching. You have to collect books and there's gonna be a paper in a desk that you have to follow after getting the numbers.»
The strange thing continued to explain how to escape "Room 50." Once they were done i thanked them and asked. «Hey, just wondering, why did you decide to help me? What's your name?» i said.
The entity looked at me, and explained. «I'm getting tired of killing people and i don't think that's right. I just like to have fun and gather friends. My name is Screech by the way!»
I looked at the entity and smiled. «Thank you for not killing me Screech, i hope we'll meet again, and thank you for the help.» i said as i opened the door to the next room.
I did my usual stuff, gathering items, this time i found a flashlight, with a bandage. I kept opening doors with keys. «Here i am...Door 50.»
I walked up to the door, and a random figure started coming towards me. «i know you're there!»
Luckily it went to the left. I then remembered what Screech said, so i started crouching. I gathered books and found numbers, and quickly went to the desk to grab the paper code. I spotted that the weird figure with no eyes, just a mouth with sharp teeth had a usual routine they checked spots.
Yeah well, i was actually wrong about that. It almost got me while i was checking for books downstairs, luckily there was a closet right next to me. I quickly jumped in. The figure was right outside while i was controlling my breath so they wouldn't hear me, as Screech mentioned they had a good hearing.
The figure finally left, and i felt so relieved. «Oh phew...» i said. I waited until the figure went upstairs.
Once the figure went downstairs, i went upstairs knowing i checked most of the books downstairs. I was looking through the books when i noticed that the figure had sped up every single time i collected a book. I looked at the paper code while i was hiding behind some couches.

«4...2...0...8...» i said, though i was missing one number. The figure started to growl and get even more mad. Their speed was so fast.
I found the last book, which had a number 1. I rushed towards the door with the code, entered the order of the following code:

«Yes! It opened!» i happily screamed while the door slammed shut after i went in.
«Congratulations, you passed through me once. Don't you worry, there's a second time we will meet...» The figure said while they were banging the door.
I shivered as i heard those words, but noticed there was a couch in the room. «Maybe taking a little rest wont hurt after all this time...» i said.
This was worse than my job, honestly i just wanted to get out of here. I sat on the couch, layed down and waited until i fell asleep. I couldn't wait to get out of here.
Here i was thinking it was all a nightmare. Though the worst was about to come upon me soon.
