Basil gently set down a flower and set it into place in the dirt. Carefully taking the watering can and sliding it into place on top of the flower, watering it with a smile. He's been taking care of plants for so long it's his practical specialty. Sighing at the sight of his lovely garden, he hopes maybe he can extend this.
Maybe this can grow, and some of the pieces of the garden could be for people that he's known. Sunny, Aubrey, Hero--
"HEYA BASIL!" Shouted a voice from afar.
It was Kel.
Basil, startled, nearly drops the watering can. Maybe he started to get a little to deep into his thoughts.
Basil set down the can and turned over to look at Kel. "Hey Kel! How's it going?"
"Great!" Kel exclaimed. "Hero bought me this new sweet video game! It's really fun!" He happily says, before trotting over to Basil's side and admiring Basil's garden.
"Man, this is really pretty, Basil! You did a good job." Kel crouched down, staring at the Blue Lillies that Basil has recently planted. "Ah, thanks!" Basil replied shyly. "I try my best, haha!" A moment of silence filled the air before Kel spoke again.
Kel turned to look at Basil. "So, how're you holding up?"
"Holding up?" Basil raised his head immediately and turned over to Kel.
"I mean.. about Sunny moving. How are you holding up?"
"Fine." Basil turned down to the floor. Kel tilts his head concerned. He knows something is wrong, especially since Sunny and him were really close.
"Basil, we can.. talk about anything if you want." Kel stands up.
Basil remained looking at the floor. "I.. I'm fine, really." Basil's eyes moved anywhere else except directly at Kel, as if he were nervous. "I mean, it's.. been a lot, really, and I'm not sure if we can hang out the same after this. Especially with Sunny gone and in the city right now. It's so.. mind boggling, I guess."
"That's understandable. Dealing with what you did.. must've.. really took a toll on you." Kel gave a more concerned expression. Basil just simply nods. He then finally looks at Kel.
"But hey! That's all so long ago, maybe we should just.. keep heading forward, to the future." Basil looked at Kel with a more reassuring expression, as if he's trying to make Kel not worry about him.
As if he should stay happy, like he always is. Kel shouldn't need to worry.
Kel looked away for a few seconds, looking back at Basil once more. "..Are you.. sure? It's always fine to talk if anything bothers you."
Basil shook his head. "No, no, I'm fine. We've got more better things to worry about." Basil then turned to his flowers. "Me, especially. I haven't even watered most of my plants yet. I might need
a little help, aha.."
Kel just stared for a few more seconds hesitant, but then smiled. "Alright, I'll get helping." Kel heaved up the heavy watering can, ready to follow Basil.
Basil grabs another watering can of his own, as the two head off to water many, many, many... MANY flowers that reside near Basil's home.
