Mari calmly took a walk outside into the park. The light wind hit her hair as it flowed. She hummed a tune as her basket swayed with her movement. It was a lovely girl just trying to make her way over to her spot, where all her friends were waiting.

Behind her, was her brother. Sunny. A kid who would usually hide behind her in silence whenever anyone dared approach. He was shy, and didn't really know how to talk to much people aside from the ones Mari and him already knew. They'd meet with their friends at a special spot spot every time they all got freetime. Those were the nice times that lightly strut a path for the two. They trusted each other dearly and cared for one another. It was a sibling relationship anyone would cherish.

That was, until everything changed. Mari was practicing for a performance.

Sunny got his new violin, and was dying to play with Mari. He wanted to be capable of something. To impress her. However, the way Mari coached him wasn't very hearing out to what he tried to do. She wanted it to be "perfect" in her own words. This lead to Sunny becoming stressed, unable to trust his ability to play for her and doubt it greatly.

With this frustration, he slammed his violin down the stairs in his own thoughts.

A fight broke out. Mari was angered that Sunny broke the violin that THEY gave him. That they worked so hard to pay for. About how he was so desperate to play but this wasn't showing that gratitude. Sunny couldn't speak, he didn't have the words, nor would he think Mari could hear him out. Sunny tried taking his leave, which lead Mari to stop him. He pushed her away in frustration, almost leading her to fall down the stairs. She grabbed the handrail and stared at him with a furious look. He hid in his room and locked the door, unable to look at Mari. Mari played alone the day of the recital. Many people that listened to when Mari and Sunny played together knew it didn't feel the same.

There was a tense resentment between the two. They wouldn't speak to each other and weren't able to communicate as good as they once had before. It was a horrible scene. Hero couldn't talk it out with Mari, and their love strained. Kel could only get Sunny to knock a yes or no answer on the door whenever he got a chance to approach Sunny's room. Aubrey didn't know what to do, and Basil was afraid that maybe Sunny would be gone forever.

It took the two about two years before they began acknowledging each other by name. It took Sunny breaking down, unable to continue ignoring his sister the way he had for so long. Mari stared at him as he begged Mari to forgive him. He didn't know what to say, and he feared that maybe she wouldn't understand the criticism on the toughness she put on him for the play. Especially when he nearly hurt her, he couldn't live with himself. If he didn't apologize, he might've not wanted to live with himself any further.

She immediately scolded him for waiting this long. Then hugged him soon afterwards. The two siblings managed to set aside their differences and talk about what they were so pent up about for so long. They promised one another things would change for the better. Things would change WAY better.

It was now a year after the two apologized to each other. Sunny, now 15, was going about High School that was about performing arts. Just to work on art and especially the violin. Mari was 18. She was graduating, and smiled with pride. They were slowly but surely getting closer than before, as she would try convincing him to go outside a lot more since he hadn't for so long. That was the main thing that worried her in the first place during their resentment period. Things were going smoother. Way more smoother than before, at least. Everyone else in the group could breathe easier. They could feel like it was like before. That was all good to them.

Hero decided to maybe take Mari somewhere nice. It was just a small, just a nice little trip over to Gino's Pizza. Just him and Mari...

"Like a date?" Sunny raised an eyebrow, slouching on the couch watching tv.

"You could say that." Mari smiled at the thought of a date. Maybe Hero would want to give her another shot?

"Well, make sure dad doesn't find out until your birthday next month." Sunny suggests. Their father was still strict on lovers or any dating interest at all.

"I know, I know. I remember the drill I set up for MYSELF." Mari put a hand to her chest in a sassy tone, putting her other hand on her hips. "What makes you care about my love life all of a sudden?"

"I just want to make sure you're okay." Sunny looked to the ground. "Plus, be lucky I'm worrying. Who knows what could happen during the date?"

"That's sweet of you, little brother." Mari gently pat his head. "Still, I can handle myself. I assure you. I got it all under control. If anything, Hero'll take care of me." She added, then began walking out the door.

"Yeah right.." Sunny mumbled and rolled his eyes. Mari quickly turned around. "WHAT WAS THAT?" "...Nothing." Sunny folded his arms and sat back on the couch. "If I'm not back by 7, tell mom I'm sleeping over at Aubrey's. And make sure you eat."

"Why remind me to eat?"

"Because I worry about you too, Sunny." Mari gave him a serious look. "Also because last time I didn't come home, mom told me you played video games with Kel all night to not worry and forgot to eat any lunch or dinner."

Sunny remained silent, looking away from the door. "I'll see you soon, little brother!" Mari waved. Sunny waved back without turning around. He was hiding a small smile. He was glad his sister was around. To still be there for him, at least.

"AND I MEAN IT WHEN I SAY EAT SOMETHING!" She yelled before finally closing the door. Sunny sighed and shook his head. Making food was hard.

Luckily, there's the microwave.
