Despite the rocky start, Jungkook finds he really enjoys Jimin and Taehyung's company. As they all eat dinner together it feels natural and fun. They teach him a game that they claim is absolutely essential: rock paper scissors. Jungkook had seen it played a lot, but had never played it himself and so he never fully understood the rules.

And they played it all night long. Loser would go get the others another beer from the fridge or do something silly or have to go tease Y/N or Yoongi. It was those two who eventually banned it for the rest of the night.

As the night goes on, the mood gets more mellow, the energy pleasant but not enthusiastic. Namjoon's lap seems to be permanently occupied by Taehyung. Y/N bounces from cuddling with Yoongi to cuddling with Jimin. "Lap cats" Yoongi calls them.

Jungkook watches the five of them, feeling left out but also more included than he has been in his entire life. Maybe in the future, his lap will be occupied too.

You wake up in the middle of the night and something feels off. Namjoon has his arms around your waist and is breathing deeply behind you, clearly still asleep. You paw the bed in front of you looking for Yoongi, but he's not there. You prop yourself on your elbow to look around the room, but don't see him anywhere.

You pull yourself out of Namjoon's hold and he groans, "I'll be right back pup," You say as you kiss his forehead. He snuggles back into the pillow and you tip toe out of the room. He isn't in the kitchen or living room. You look upstairs and there is a faint light coming from his studio.

You quietly make your way up so you don't disturb Jungkook, knocking lightly on the door before letting yourself in. Yoongi is sitting in his desk chair, turned towards the dark window, looking into the night. He peeks around his chair to look at you as you come in.

"What are you doing up babe?" You rub your eyes and plop on the window seat.

"I could ask the same question." You yawn and shrug.

"You weren't in bed, I think it woke me up."

"Sorry kitten!" His smile is soft and tired, "I was having a hard time sleeping."

"Why?" You stretch your arms up above your head. Yoongi can see the smooth skin of your stomach as your shirt shrugs up with the stretch. He feels awkward talking about this kind of stuff with you, but he's done it before.

"Jimin and I, we – I'm kind of worried we're moving too fast." He says it so low that it's almost a whisper, but your hybrid ears hear it just fine and you nod your head thoughtfully.

"I feel the same way about Taehyung. I told him I shouldn't be doing those kinds of things with someone who isn't in my pack and he just said, let me join your pack, like it doesn't mean the same thing to him as it does to me, you know?" Yoongi nods and sighs.

"What do we do?" You shake your head, unsure.

"I don't know, it was different with Namjoon –"

"What was different with me?" You both jump. Namjoon is casually leaning in the doorway. He's shirtless, lean and beautiful.

"How were you so quiet?"

"You just weren't listening and you didn't shut the door." He plops down next to you on the window seat, grabs one of the arms of Yoongi's chair and unceremoniously wheels him over to the window, then tugs him out of the chair and into his lap. Yoongi protests, but with no conviction. Namjoon nuzzles into Yoongi's neck and you nuzzle into both of them.

The three of you are silent for a few moments, just basking in each other's warmth and letting the comfort of familiarity set in.

"So you two are having boy troubles?" Namjoon asks and the three of you dissolve into quiet giggles, the situation is absolutely ridiculous.
