What's One More

New Neighbors

Your hand trails through the water of your koi pond. That pond that you and Yoongi had planned is finally a reality. You have 4 small koi fish and named them all. You are going to insist that Namjoon and Yoongi learn them too. You have a feeling that Namjoon will actually try to learn their names, but Yoongi will most likely laugh at your request, good naturedly of course. He will probably insist on calling each of them "fish."

It is a beautiful pond about 4 feet by 6 feet and ringed by smooth slate stones that you can sit on. In the back corner there is a fountain made of similar slate stones. The sound of flowing water and the sight of the swimming fish instantly put you at ease. Maybe you could get some water plants, you won't really have to do anything to keep them alive right? You sigh contentedly.

"You have fish!" The unfamiliar voice makes you jump to your feet. A hybrid is staring at you from over the fence with a large feline smile. Black pointed ears twitch about in his black hair. He blinks his emerald eyes lazily. You can tell he is some kind of cat, but you can't tell what kind yet. You take a moment to search for his scent. He is an exotic, like you, some kind of big cat. You are instantly wary.

He easily lifts himself over the fence and into your lawn. You feel your tail bristle and you tense up. But his tail is lifted and he gazes at your pond with fondness and curiosity. He is beautiful and there's something graceful about his movements, about his looks.

He isn't wearing shoes and has on ripped denim shorts and a flowy long sleeved button up shirt that's rolled up to his elbows. It is such an odd combination. He takes a few steps forward towards the pond and you take a few steps back.

"What's your name, pretty kitty?" If his tone wasn't so sweet, so innocent, you might have been offended by the familiarity, but despite yourself, you feel yourself relax a little around him.

"Y/N." You reply, still watching him closely. He crouches by the pool now, trailing his fingers in the water like you had. You can't help but notice he has several silver rings on his fingers.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N!" He looks up at you and smiles brightly, a rectangular, boxy smile. His smile makes the back of your neck tingle and you rub at it self-consciously.

"What's your name?" He straightens and sticks out his hand, still wet from the pond

"I'm Taehyung! I just moved in with my owner next door." At that moment you hear a male voice from the other lawn start calling his name, "That would be him. Over here Jimin!"

Your ears twitch as you hear someone cross the lawn and pull themselves up on the fence. The man who pops his head over is on the verge of being angelic. His blond hair is a little frazzled, like he has been pushing it back with his hand, but his features are beautiful, soft cheekbones and plush lips.

"There you are, you silly cat! Did you make a new friend?" His sparkling eyes disappear as he smiles, he is so cute it almost makes your heart stop.

"Hey! Who are you?" Namjoon barks, hurrying out into the yard. You know it is the German Shepard in him getting all territorial and you find it cute. Your two neighbors smile un-phased. His eyebrows are furrowed together and his glares from Jimin to Taehyung.

"Chill Joon, these are our neighbors Taehyung and Jimin." Their smiles disarm him and he looks confused, unsure.

Taehyung extends a hand, "Hi there puppy!" Namjoon takes his hand and Taehyung jerks him close, only a few inches away from him.

"It's Namjoon," He says, flustered.

"Tae, leave him alone! Forgive him, Namjoon!" Jimin was smiling wide again and you felt your heart flutter. Between the close proximity to Taehyung and Jimin's grin, Namjoon is soon blushing and babbling. You let him struggle, finding it absolutely adorable. He is saved when the screen door shuts and everyone turns to look at Yoongi on the back porch.
