Desperation was a dangerous weapon. It can make a person do anything.

"I can use my void powers to seal that hole in the sky and end this storm," Kiana said much to both girls' disbelief.

Had she lost her mind?

"What?" Mei's voice lost its volume as shaken orbs stared at her friend. "No! NO! You haven't even recovered! You shouldn't even be fighting!"

"Mei is right." You agreed. "I'll attempt to close the hole. You should go back to Helios."

"We both know you can't," Kiana stated before going on to persuade the ex-Herrscher. "I can't let this thing get any bigger, Mei. More monsters are coming. The Honkai is rising. This disaster will soon spread to other places. I must end this!"

Mei wasn't about to go down without a fight. "Stop being so stubborn! Don't you know what's happening to you? If you do this, your body will..." Her voice goes quiet.

The raven-haired girl tries to muster the will to let her words but fails.

"Let's talk about this first." You proposed. "Engaging the problem rashly could intensify the problem and your condition."

Your words fell on deaf ears.

Kiana replied with words that chilled your heart. "I don't care."

Mei's face contoured to puzzlement. The white-haired girl simply closed her eyes

"... Kiana?" She calls.

"I know everything, Mei..." The Kaslana admit. "I know what's happening to me... and my body..."

You couldn't say anything to her. Mei mutters a string of 'nos' from beside you.

"To be honest, I was quite scared. I trembled at the thought of death. But I refuse to run away from danger... I'll do what I can and take responsibility for this... This is the only way I can seek atonement from the people I hurt... and from Miss Himeko." The girl turns and graces you with the smile she always wore. It was the smile that once brought joy and comfort to you, but all you could see were flashes of red. "It's alright, Mei, (Y/N). I'm pretty uber. Just wait for me."

"Kiana!" Mei shouted. "No!!!"

Her scream would haunt you. You watched as Mei's cries do nothing to hinder the white-haired Valkyrie from leaving.

She tried to run after her friend. The dragon and its master grew farther and farther from her. The raven-haired girl ends up on the ground. You rushed to her, trying to stop the girl from hurting herself even more. Even as you helped her, her eyes remained on the disappearing figures in the sky.

"Mei, we can still catch up to her." You gently told.

She then turns to you with an indecipherable look. Even with the rain, ton could hear her. Before you could say anything she whispers to you, "I'm sorry, (Y/N)."

She didn't give you a chance to stop her. Mei takes off, leaving you behind, muttering an apology over and over again. She's made her choice. You were too good for this world just as Kiana was. She felt wrong for leaving without an explanation, but it had to be done. You called out to her but she never turned back.
