Jisung woke up on the couch, his head in Chan's lap. Last came back to him in blurry flashes of confusion and longing. He still felt trances of Minho on his fingertips. He was still weighed down with guilt.
Chan noticed that Jisung's eyes had opened and he started petting his hair. He didn't know what happened last night, but he could tell it was bad. For now, all Chan could do was be there until Jisung was ready to talk.
It was hard to explain his thought process to other people. Chan understood sometimes, or at least he tried to. Jisung knew he had to say something, but the words escaped him.
"Good morning, Sungie" Chan said gently. The softness in his tone was enough to make Jisung cry all over again. He knew he didn't deserve Chan's patience.
Chan wordlessly pulled Jisung into a closer hug and waited for him to calm down. He wasn't a stranger to having to comfort people, and he didn't mind at all. It just proved to him that Jisung felt safe with him. There was nothing better than that.
Jisung sat back, breaking Chan's embrace as he sniffled. He knew he had to get this over with. He needed to tell the story now so he would never have to again.
"What happened?" Chan asked quietly.
"I went over to Felix's place" Jisung started, looking anywhere by Chan's face. "I didn't know he had a roommate, but I didn't care. But then I ran into him, and it was Minho?"
"From the cafe?" Chan asked.
Jisung nodded and cleared his throat before continuing. "I saw a scar on his stomach, and he got upset about that. I told him that i..." He trailed off, his face burning with embarrassment. "I told him that i still found him beautiful and we almost kissed"
Chan waited for Jisung to get to the bad part, but Jisung had finished the story. "So what's the problem?"
"The problem?" Jisung looked up at Chan with big eyes filled with self reproach. "I tried to kiss him when he was vulnerable! I'm a horrible person, Chan"
Chan shook his head and looked at Jisung like he had lost his mind. It was quite possible that he had. "Jisung, that doesn't make you a bad person. I mean, did you ask before you went to kiss him?"
Jisung nodded uncertainty.
"Then it seems like you just had a romantic moment and got scared, you didn't do anything wrong" Chan explained.
Jisung opened his mouth to argue but then closed it when he realized that what Chan was saying made sense.
"I think you should go talk to him" Chan said, squeezing Jisung's shoulder.
"I don't know what to say" Jisung sighed as he buried his face in his hands. His head hurt too much to think.
"Be honest with him," Chan suggested. Jisung peered through his fingers and glared.
"Oh, yeah, sure," He responded sarcastically. "Because i'm so good at that"
Chan rolled his eyes. "You have to try, Jisung"
"I know" Jisung pulled out his phone and saw a missed call from Minho. Chan saw this from over his shoulder.
"See?" He had that i-told-you-so smile on his face. "He's just waiting for you to reach out"
"Alright, alright" Jisung conceded. "Thank you, Chan"
"No problem," Chan said, pinching one of Jisung's cheeks. "You know you can always come to me for anything"
"I know" Jisung allowed this to happen for a moment, then pulled himself away from Chan and called Minho. Chan stood to give him some privacy, but Jisung grabbed his hand. Chan sat down.
