"B-brother?" Jess felt like she couldn't breathe, and her eyes became blurry, Kaz could only smile softly as he opened his arms to invite her in for a warm embrace, Jess didn't take a second to think as she ran into his arms as she cried onto his shoulder, her brother holding her tight as if afraid that he would lose her again.  Kaz didn't say anything else as they stayed in each other's embrace, he only stood there waiting for her, after some time had passed her tears continued to flow as she gently used her shaking hands to push herself away from him to take a closer look of his appearance as she had missed her brother, he looked almost the same, yet mature: his innocent gray eyes were now sharp and cold, green medium messy hair and tan filled with tattoos on his once naked pale skin, he looked muscular and tall, if it weren't for his hair, tattoos, and lip piercing, he might look like their mother but a male version of her, while Jess looked like the female version of their alcoholic and abusive father. She took a moment to think back to the last time when she had seen her mother and brother.

She remembered the last time she had seen him was when their parents were having a heated argument, her brother had to carry her to his room and played one of her favorite cartoon movies at high volume so as to not hear them, he held her in his arms hugging her tightly and every once in a while he would plant kisses to her chubby cheeks which made her giggle, and after what felt like forever, by the end of the movie their mother barged in his room and in a rush she opened every drawer and doors of his room and through most of his clothes and items onto the floor before leaving again to return to his room with boxes, "Kaz, Jess, my loves, come and help me pack while mommy packs her things." Jess being an innocent five year old nodded, the two siblings got up from the carpeted floor and quickly helped pack Kaz's things without questioning, their mother left the room by the time Jess started to place Kaz's folded clothes while Kaz folded one by one and handing them to her.

As time flies by, Jess placed the last of the things in his fourth box, she let out a tired sigh as she flopped backward, her brother being her cushion, he let out a soft 'uff', and the two laughed. "Where is papa? I haven't heard him come and check on us after mama and papa were talking," Jess was worried, Kaz smiled, trying his best to comfort his dear little sister, he patted her head gently, "don't worry, papa went back to work, how about we go where mama is and see if she needs help!" Kaz suggested, Jess nodded and stood up she held her hand out for her brother and helped him up, Kaz did most of the work to get stand up, he held her hand and made their way to their mother. They found their mother crying as she threw her clothes onto the boxes without care, Jess let go of her brother's hand and slowly walked up to her and gently took her slender fingertips in her smaller ones, they looked confused and almost freaked out but when she realized that it was only her daughter, she forced a small smile, "hi sweetie, done helping your brother?" She softly asked as she placed her perfume bottle into one of the smaller boxes, before sitting down on the bed, Jess nodded as she smiled up at her, their mother only nodded and patted her head gently, "good girl, now I want you both to listen carefully," she spoke sternly as she reached her arm out for her son to come, Kaz slowly made his way to their mother and stood next to his sister, "now, Jess, my sweet princess, you will have to stay with papa to take care of him, papa will feel lonely if I take you two with me," Kaz stood there frozen, he couldn't comprehend what was going on, he was scared for his sister, he never once left her alone, he always made sure that she was safe and as a big brother he felt responsible to protect her from anyone and anything from hurting her, he didn't know what to do without his little sister by his side. "I'm against it," Kaz quickly said as he took his sister's hand, "I won't go with you without my sister with me," Kaz added as he glared at his mother, "I'm not giving you an option, you're coming with me, whether you like it or not and that's final." Jess turned to face her brother and let go of his hand and with her small arms she hugged her brother, "don't worry about me, I can take care of myself, plus, I won't be lonely, I got papa with me and my best friend, you go with mama and promise me that you'll take care of mama for me, okay?"  Jess slowly let go, her tears flowing down her rosy chubby cheeks, Kaz then pulled her in for another hug and held her tightly, he couldn't hold back his tears, he then started to cry onto her shoulder, he didn't want to leave her alone, he didn't know why but he was scared for her, he was scared of being alone with his mother as well, but what his mother says is final and they have no choice but to oblige.
