The two friends left the house, both walking side by side, smiling at each other, talking as they walked towards the bus stop. "So, where do you want to go?" She asked, "I was planning to go to the mall," he said, "sounds great to me." She chirped, he chuckled as he took a glance at her, smiling. The two waited for the bus, so they could go to the mall. While they waited, they chatted, sharing jokes and changing subjects every once in a while, a few minutes passed, and the bus arrived, Nick let Jess in first, him following her close behind, the two pulled out their passes, and he let her scan her card first, hearing a soft beep, she walked towards the back, Nick following suit, Jess found two free spots at the back of the bus, she took the window view while he sat beside her.

An hour had passed, and the two stepped into the building. "Where are we off to first?" She took a moment to think it through, "how about Game Stop?" He chuckled, nodding, and he took her hand, pulling her with him a little, she giggled as they walked, she felt lucky to have met him, if she hadn't met him, what would she be doing right now? She shook her head, she noticed that they are standing in front of the entrance of the store. "Ladies first, that means you, Wolf." He smirked at her, and she giggled as she spoke, "nope, you're the lady for today, so ladies first, Cow." He chuckled as he did a small feminine pose, then stepped into the store, swaying his hips hysterically, she shook her head, trying to hold back a laugh. Time flies by, and Nick noticed Jess was staring at some of the horror games for a while now, this gave him an idea of what to give her; After looking around the store, they decided to leave, walking around at the mall, to look around a few more shops.

Out of the blue, Jess had a strange feeling- no it was not because of Nick, the feeling has a mixture of danger and she felt heavy in her chest, but she pushed the feeling aside, 'now isn't the time to feel alarmed,' they walked towards the cafeteria, "you choose the spot while I'll go order our food." She nodded, smiling, and the two took their separate ways, she looked around, and once she found a spot, where it's nearby the carousel, she took a seat, letting a tired sigh as she could finally rest her feet, while she waited for Nick, she watched the little kids riding on one of the horses, she lowered her eyes a little, her smile dropped a little, but then quickly smiled a little with adoring eyes, watching the many kids and parents smiling and having a fun time. As she watched them, she then whispered to herself, "if only my parents were like that..." From afar, someone was watching her, as the person stood up, walking towards where Jess's table is at. "Hey Jess," said a female voice, Jess's body stiffened a little, and already recognizing the voice, she slowly sat up straight, turning her head a little to the right, facing her crush. Zoe. "Zoe...?" She rolled her eyes, "may I?" She pointed at the free chair that is across from her, she slowly nodded, "could I ask you a question?" Asked Zoe, with hesitation, she nodded. "Why didn't you show up at school today?" She then began to get serious, Jess, on the other hand, was trembling a little. "Nick had told me that I shouldn't go to school, after all, I wasn't feeling well..." Zoe gave her a cold stare, "you're hanging out with that thing too?" Jess felt bothered, "for your information, he isn't a thing, he at least cares about me, in fact, he is way better than you," she mumbled the last part more so to herself than to Zoe, Jess glared at her, though on the inside she was hurt, she didn't want to face her today, but she won't give her the satisfaction. "At least he doesn't hurt me as you do to me..." She mumbled to herself once more, but loud enough for Zoe to hear, she was flabbergasted but quickly hid it, she stood up. "Whatever, I'm not going to waste my time on either of you two." With that said, she left, and Jess felt tears sliding down her cheeks. "Then why bother me if I am wasting your time...? Why did you skip school and how did you know I was here?" Jess held her head up only to notice Zoe had left, her vision blurry through her tears, and saw a blurry figure walking towards her direction, "Hey, Jess, sorry for making you wai-" Nick noticed Jess's tears, he carefully placed the tray down on the table, then quickly walking around the table, crouching down to her level, he extended his hand out slowly, whipping away a tear that escaped from the corner of her eye. "Jess, what happened?" She slowly looked up at him, more silent tears fell as she tried to speak through her sobs. "I... saw Zoe... A-and..." Nick frowned a little, he then pulled her into a hug, "don't worry Jess, I'm here now..." She cried into his chest, gripping his arm a little. "Jess, Zoe isn't worth it, I know you can find someone better than her. Just forget her and move on." She cried a little harder, "but Zoe is perfect for me, I love her..." He hugged her tightly, "I know you do, but if this keeps up, she'll only hurt you more when the time goes by, Jess, please just hear me out... I want you to be happy. I don't want to see you broken. It pains me whenever I see you hurt." He whispered into her ear as he held her, she looked up at him, smiling a little, "you know it won't be easy, but I'll try..." He smiled to himself, he pulled her back gently, drying her tears with his two thumbs. "I will always be there to protect you, Wolf." She giggled softly, hugging him, "thanks Cow. For everything," he hugged her back, "Anytime Jessy, but first things first. Let's eat." She smiled a little more, nodding, "'kay!" He stood up, and took his seat across from her, handing her a plate of sushi rolls, and a small cup of soya sauce. "Eat up."
