“When a man is at peace, they go wherever their heart is. If you give Adam peace of mind, he would cherish you, but you are always bragging. I don’t want to lose my boyfriend. I don’t want to lose my boyfriend!” Hazel mimicked with raised shoulders, showing how proud Alice used to be. “Haven’t you lost your boyfriend now?”

“Lose him? I would not lose him in Jesus’ name! Why are you talking like this?” Alice asked as her eyes begged Hazel for answers. “Have I lost him? Is he dating someone else now? Is Adam totally over me already?” She panicked while Jane calmly watched the both of them with folded arms on the bed. She was a grave, not interrupting their talk.

“I don’t know... You think he won’t date someone else? The guy you said was cheating on you when you were together, he’s a free man now. I don’t know who he’s dating, however.” Hazel assured.

“But I’m sure that he already has someone he’s into.”

“Please, when talking to Noah, tell him I’m a changed person.” Alice pleaded with blinking eyes. She had wide eyes, full cheeks, and a refined nose. She was beautiful, curvy, and smart. Able to lure any guy and seduce any lady to her bidding. Alice was good enough for anyone, but right now, none of it works. She held Hazel’s hand and continued. “To prove that, someone stepped on me in a department on Friday while rushing into the lecture hall, and I did nothing! I didn’t slap the guy. Neither did I get upset or caused a scene. I swear I am a gentle girl now.”

Hazel turned to Jane, who was still paying attention.

“Jane, were you not there when Alice was talking to someone on the phone, raining curses and insults on the person to the point of dripping in sweat?” she faced Alice back.

“I am sure that if you had seen the person, you would have beaten both the person and the parents. Anyway, I’ve heard and I will discuss with Noah.”

“Thank you.” Alice muttered with pouted lips.

“Talking to Noah is not the problem, do you get?” Hazel suggested. “Like I said earlier, the change has to start with you, Alice. Everything is not about shouting and screaming. Or showing what you’re capable of. You don’t bully someone you love, okay? Even if he’s cheating, be patient with him, and if you’re truly destined for each other, he will eventually change.”

“Okay.” Alice nodded in understanding like a calm child.

“Change, girlie. Once you change and I’m convinced, I will talk to Noah so he can help us plea with Adam. I will equally plead with him myself.” Hazel guaranteed.

“Thank you.” Alice hummed with sincerity.

“No problem. I want to check on Noah. I just came to inform you girls.” Hazel muttered, adjusting her edges with a touch of her fingers. ” “I’ll see you later.”

“Awn... You’re going to see Noah again.” Alice gushed with folded lips. Alice turned to Jane while Hazel closed the door. “I feel like going with her.” She told Jane, falling on the soft bed like a log of wood against the earth. Her black hair scattered around her face as she heaved out a breath of relief.

“I thought she’s your best friend! Aren't you besties?” Jane finally turned to Alice with a slight frown. “For me, I’ve got no problem because I’m by myself. I and Felix are just friends, he pointed that out for me long ago so I’m not bothered. Everybody is with me. I’m for nobody.” Jane pointed out, folded arms and chewing on her thumbnail. “I don’t trust Hazel.”

“What?”

“It shouldn't surprise you, okay? She’s not worried or touched about these!”

“What do you mean?”
