Fatima's POV
"I just don't know what to do.." I was sitting in class trailing off every 5 seconds with the thought of..Wudu, and everything else.
Why cant he just tell me what's wrong?!
"Fatima, listen to me. You..you don't have to do anything. Everything will be fine, and you don't even know if something's wrong, so what are you so worried about?" Jannatul says.
I just look up at her nodding my head slightly and give her a sigh.
Oh I know my brother, there's lots to worry about"Ok class! Better have that 40 page essay done by next Friday! Goodluck!" My English professor yells in a dull tone.
Great, something else to worry about
Class was over so I got up grabbing my stuff while giving a eye roll to the stupid essay I guess.
I felt like nothing was going as it should be. Wudu has a problem that I'm sure of, my dad left my mom again for a business trip leaving her very lonely especially because now Wudu barely ever notices her. He just stays locked up in his room all day or is out somewhere ever since the day we met with that girl, Saba or whatever. The weird thing is by the way they yelled at eachother, and what they said to eachother, proves that they know one another. And something happened, my mom still tries to convince herself it was nothing. But...I know it wasn't. And the worst part of all, the part I'm trying to not think of, the part I'm trying not to mention in my head, is the part where me and Zain had a fight a couple days ago.
I get knocked out from my thoughts when Jannatul says, "hey! Hellooo. Come on, I'm going over to your house remember? Let's get going."
"Oh, yeah ok."
"Fatima please cheer up. What's wrong? It just can't be the fact of there something being wrong with Wudu. What else are you not telling me?"
I just ignore what she said and keep walking outside to get to my car. "Fatima!!" I hear Jannatul yell out.
She's my bestfriend, I can't do this to her. I stop and turn around, "I'm sorry, your right, there is something I'm not telling you. But please be patient, I'll tell you soon. Let's just go home now."
Jannatul smiles than grabs my wrist making me walk faster. Once we get in we go pick up Talia from her house and drive to my house.
****
"Soo what's up? You gonna tell us??" Talia jumped.
We were all sitting on the living room sofa eating ice cream like little kids. "Uhh Soo.." I take a spoonful of my chocolate chip ice cream.
"Soo..?" Jannatul says.
"The thing with Wudu has been bothering me but.." I get cut off when Talia quickly says, "wait! What's wrong with Wudu? Did something happen?" She says in a cocky tone than eyeballs Jannatul.
Hmmmm?
I decide to join in with whatever this was, although pretty sure I knew what it was but say, "I'm sure Jannatul can tell you later." And I eyeball Jannatul who's face was turning a faded red.
"Guys?! Seriously? What are you guys trying to say here!" She screams back.
"Haha..you'll find out soon. But trust me, you already know a part of it." Talia answers back mischievously giving her a wink.
