Chapter 11: The Price of War

A/n: {intercom}

The three left the gym as Rias came through on a magic intercom.

Rias: "Get out of there now, you have three more pawns coming in the gym. Akeno is on route to kick off the fireworks."

Akeno appeared from the tree line as more announcements were made proclaiming the defeat of 4 more of Riser's peerage. Issei dropped to the ground pulling down Koneko and (Y/n) along with him. He knew that look on her face. She began to slow as sparks began to pop from her fingers, clouds gathered as she struck the hall with a single bolt of lightning before the roof popped and the gym was decimated as smoke engulfed the remains.

Y/n: "HOLY CRAP?!"

Issei: "That's her power alright. Guess that's why she's called the Priestess of Thunder."

Koneko: "Makes sense..."

Announcer: "3 of Riser's pawns have been retired."

The three stood up as they began to pull back to the base per Rias's request. A screech sounded through the sky Koneko shoved the two boys to the dirt, a loud boom shook the ground as the area around her was engulfed in smoke and dust, a floating figure began to laugh. The queen of Riser. Akeno scowled before blasting her as the two lit up the sky with a multitude of bright flashes. (Y/n) sprinted to the crater seeing a partially exposed Koneko covered in cuts and bruises.

Y/n: "KONEKO?! DAMMIT I GOT YOU HOLD ON!!"

Koneko: "I'm out of commission... your our last rook meaning you have the brute strength on our tea-" she was cut off as her body disappeared in a wave of blue particles.

Y/n: "DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT! NO PLEASE I CANT LOSE YOU TOO!"

Rias: {Listen (Y/n) she's okay she's been transported to a separate area is all let Akeno deal with the queen get out now!}

He rose to his feet sprinting toward Issei as they made their way to the tree line. Out of no where a ball of flames hit the ground infront of the two blocking them off. They turned to see the remaining of Risers pawns, bishops knights and rooks. This included the blonde girl from before who held a firm gaze with him.

Y/n: "Shit... Issei ready up! They won't let us go so we won't let them through!" He gripped his hilt of his blade as his eyes began to blacken once more. Issei equipped his glove and got into a fighting stance. They sprinted in two directions as Issei took the remainder of the pawns and the bishops while (Y/n) took the knights and rook.

(Y/n) charged towards the first knight who wore a mask over her face jumping colliding blades with her longsword. She pushed him away with great force as he lost his gained distance in seconds. She charged him closing the gap and striking his leg with such speed she could barely be seen. A large yet quick fountain of blood burst from his thigh as he dropped the rook appearing behind him. They drove their fist down on his left shoulder with a pop and a crunch as he screamed in pain. His body bounced along the ground as the impact pushed his figure like a piece of paper.

He stood up spiting blood before rotating his blades hilt and ramming the bottom of his shoulder, another pop sounding. Gripping his katana, he lowered his head before throwing it like a javelin surprising the knight as it went through her legs to her surprise and burying itself within the rooks shin. The tip bursting through the other side as a shower of blood spat from the side of the blade. He took this moment of confusion to close his gap between the knight jumping and spinning performing a hurricane kick as he the tip of his shoe down on his opponent's right cheek knocking her to the ground with a loud thud. He landed before striking her rib cage after rolling up his fingers pushing her chest in with a sickening snap and lurk as she spat up a mixture of saliva and blood. She began to dissipate in the blue particles as he turned to the severely wounded rook who laid yanking at the blade lodged in her leg. It reappeared in his hand before he struck her temple with his hilt.
