Cold mist swirled around Nightpaw in the moonlit hollow.
Nightpaw watched the paw steps of spirit cats pacing around the starlit sky. Their pelts seem to glisten with starlight. Above her, she saw the branches of trees covered in icy frost.

It's so cold. I can't believe leaf-bare just started.

She shivered as a dark ginger pelt approach her.

"Nightpaw. Do you remember me?" The she cat said.

"Yes, you were the cat who gave me that prophecy." Nightpaw said, remembering the time where everything was so confusing.

Everything is sort of making sense now.

"I gave you that prophecy for a reason." She meows. "You are doing well. But I came to warn you, Nightpaw. Looks can be deceiving. Don't trust all cats.."

"What do you mean? Are you talking about Stormclaw's niceness? I thought he was faking it!"

"Approach the Silver Circle." She mews as her starlit pelt fades away.

Why doesn't Starclan make any sense? Is it because I'm new to the clans?

Darkness spread through Nightpaw, and she blinked open her eyes.

She was back in her moss-covered nest. It was still dark out. Goldheart, Blazepaw and the others were soundly sleeping. Nightpaw remembered that they traveled as far as the pine-covered Forest, and stopped for a short nap.

"Wake up, everyone! We must approach the silver circle before sunrise!" Nightpaw meows urgently.

The other cats stretch and get up from their nests. "Where is Blazepaw?" I meow anxiously.

A low groan is heard from inside the den.

"Blazepaw? Blazepaw! Are you okay?" Goldheart says as he rushes over to him. I follow him into the cold, dark den.

I freeze when I look at Blazepaw.

No no no! Please.. Don't let this happen.

"Nightpaw? What's wrong? You look worried." A soft meow says behind me.

I whip my head around. "It's.. Blazepaw. He.. He's got the illness.."

I start to tremble. "Blazepaw, you have to stay strong! Don't leave me please!" I beg to my older brother.

Blazepaw has always been there for me. Ever since mom disappeared. He took care of me like a good brother would do.

"My head hurts" he moans.

I look at the other cats. "All of you go inside and get some rest. I guess we have to wait until the next full moon. I'm not traveling with my sick brother. We have to go back.."

"But we traveled so far!" Shimmerpelt meows, her pelt fluffed up from the cold.

"I'll be fine." Rasps Blazepaw.

"No. We go back first thing in the morning. I'm not losing my brother." I meow determinably. "I'm going to stay and watch him."

"Better do what she says." Goldheart meows and goes inside with a flick of his tail. The others follow.

I lick Blazepaw on the head. "You're gonna be okay." I meow softly, like a mother soothing her kit. Nightpaw feels a pang of loneliness. She missed her mother so much.

Suddenly a wave of tiredness hit Nightpaw hard. She felt tiredness swarm over her. Heavier than stones, she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer. She was exhausted.

Nightpaw closed her eyes and she fell asleep.
