Dark Night (Book 3)

Chapter 3

Nightpaw watched the full moon shining across the endless dark sky.

Nightpaw padded over to where Blazepaw was grooming. "Blazepaw! I need to talk to you.. Alone." I whisper.

"Sure." He says and I follow him behind the camp.

"Starclan sent me a prophecy!" I exclaim.

"Starclan...? Oh you mean those dead cats?" Blazepaw says, clearly not interested.

"Yes! They sent me a prophecy." I repeat.

"Really?" He says.

"Don't you believe me?" I tell him.

"I do believe you. But I don't believe in dead cats living in the stars. What kind of nonsense is that anyway? You probably just heard the prophecy in a dream or something."

"So, don't you want to help me figure it out? Maybe we can find mom."

"It's worth a try. But, let's get the clan cats to help. So they don't think we're doing anything suspicious." Blazepaw mentions.

I nod and we go back inside camp. Sunstar is sitting on high rock and she motions me to come over.

I leap onto the rock and settle myself next to her. "You called for me?" I begin to say.

"Mistpaw told me the prophecy Starclan told you. You must be a very important cat." Sunstar meows.

"Well-"

"Tonight there is a gathering." Sunstar interrupts. "You and Blazepaw are going to come. In fact, we are about to leave." She says as she stands up.

"Cats who are going to the gathering are: Blazepaw, Rosepaw, Nightpaw, Duskpelt, Tigerstripe, Stormclaw, Shimmerpelt, Dawnfur, Violetbreeze, Graystorm, and me. We are leaving now. Other cats, guard camp. Nightclan warriors are still up and about." Sunstar meows.

"Guess what." Rosepaw says.

"Rosepaw! You nearly scared me out of my fur!" I hiss

Rosepaw gives a mrrow of laughter. "Sorry! But anyways guess what! I think I figured out some of your prophecy." She mentions.

"Really? Tell us!" Exclaims a cat.

"Blazepaw? Are you eavesdropping?" I say giving him 'the look'

"Never mind what I was doing. Come on Rosepaw, what do you have to share!" He exclaims.

"Anyway, the prophecy says to approach the silver circle that brightens up the darkness. Well, the moon brightens up the night, and tonight it's a full moon so it looks like a silver circle!" She meows.

"So your saying to follow the moon and We will find what we are looking for.. Which is a cure for the sickness!" I exclaim.

"Are you three mouse-brains coming or not?" Stormclaw says, interrupting us.

"Whatever." I meow rolling my eyes and pad after him.

Why does he have to be so stubborn? It's so annoying.

"Wow! I've never seen so many cats in one place!" I exclaim full of awe.

I settle myself in between Blazepaw and Stormclaw.

"It's amazing isn't it." Stormclaw meows.

Well that's the first positive thing I've heard of out his mouth since I've arrived here.

"Yeah" I sigh.

"Cats of all clans!" Sunstar meows. "The gathering is now at a start. We have two rouges who joined our clan, Blazepaw and Nightpaw. Nightpaw received a prophecy a few moons ago that will help us find a cure for the sickness that affects us all!"

Cats begin to cheer. "Sunstar. I would like to say that many cats have died or disappeared from the strange illness. But I won't let only Lightingclan warriors find the cure. I'm sending a cat from my clan on this mission, and I think the other clans should do the same." The Nightclan leader, Breezestar meows.

"I agree with Breezestar." Riverstar meows.

"I do too. The warriors shall continue their journey right away." Windstar says.

Ugh. That means more cats we have to look after. Why can't-

"Sunstar! Look!" A cat from the crowd screeches, which causes lots of commotion. All the cats begin to screech and yowl.

I try to see what all the racket is about.

"Hey what's going on..." I stop dead in my tracks.

I see Rosepaw, lying in the dirt in a pool of blood. Her throat was slashed open.

Rosepaw, the cat who Nightpaw befriended. The cat who was her friend.

But now that cat is dead.

ROSEPAW IS DEAD U GUYS OMGOMGOMG.

WHO IS DA KILLER??!!!

ANYWAYS....

I won't be updating at all this week because I'm going to be studying and taking exams :/

Sucks I know. Ugh.
